does gpt sites pays much higher than ptc sites??

i've been a member on some ptc sites for a while now and it really takes time and patience to earn one dollar or so. i always see gpt sites but i don't know how does it works, is it the same as ptc or a different one? does it pay much higher than ptc sites?
