I can't believe how expensive printer ink is lately! I just spent almost 60$ on a black and colour ink cartridge from my hp deskjet 3320. I usually use the printers at my university for 10cents a page, but I figured I might save some money by pulling out my old printer. My dad got fed up with paying for ink and just ordered a Kodak 5250 inkjet printer. Apparently you can save a lot of money, because the ink refills cost under 20$. Does anyone else have a Kodak that wants to share how they like or dislike it?
Tell me how much you've spent on printer ink?

Printer ink seems to always be expensive unless you buy it in bulk. I hate it. I never want to print out anything at home because I feel like I'm wasting so much money! At school you can print things out for free if you can squeeze yourself into the library! I have a HP deskjet and the ink is like $26 for each color! I don't understand why it's so expensive!

My school charges for printing in the library! 10cents a page, which is pretty pricey when you print a lot of assignments out. I know a lot of people do their personal printing needs at work to save money but it ends up costing offices and other workplaces a lot of money in ink/toner!

10 cents a page is too much dude! In India, black and white print costs Rs.2 a page. Assuming a dollar to be approx. 50 Rupees = 25 pages per dollar! Things are very cheap here in India!

Also, printing at my school's library is free of cost for the first 40 pages and costs Rs.1 after that! They also take a fee called the Cartridge fee in our fees every year , and that comes to be about Rs.250!

This brand is good for picture-qulity work. Though I don't recommend using refills because those can actually end up damaging the printer or causing a big mess. So I'd be careful about that. Other then that little flaw, you should consider when it comes to replacing the ink.

I do not think that refilling the printer causes any problem for the printer itself! I refilled the cartridge for about 15 times and it was still working fine! I just find ways to save money so that I can get that 2GB of RAM for my PC!

Buying ink from the printer's makers is very expensive, probably cheaper just buying a new printer every time you need a refill. However there are plenty of sites on the internet which sell compatable ink (usually as good or even better quality as originals).
Not sure of the cost in U.S. but I can get a set of 4 Full Sets ofcartridges (16 in total) for my Epson for £19.99. Epson's price for One full set is £34.30. Shop around on the internet you will be pleasantly surprised.

Printer ink is extortionately expensive. Give the manufacturers striped shirts and a balaclava and it'll be daylight robbery
I find it much cheaper, not to mention more environmentally friendly (but this is less important than price for me) to recycle my cartridges and have them re-filled with ink, rather than buy fresh ones.

inks are really very pricey and i dont get it. it's even easier to just buy a new printer which comes with free ink cartridges than spend for just inks. To be honest, I ave done that twice. :D It is really more practical to buy a new printer than spend so much on just inks.

I know that is pretty ridiculous that we can buy new printers to get the ink that without the printer would be very expensive. How wasteful though! A whole printer that will probably never get used because all it was purchased for was the ink. I wonder if you could sell the unused printer on eBay for any money.

Yeah, printer are way much expensive than the printer. I think we are actually paying for the price of the ink cartridge when buy a brand new printer because ink cartridge are already included in package. Here in our place, the price of both black and colour ink cartredge will cost you around $40-$60. Brand new printers together with the ink cartridge costs about $50.

I had a Kodak printer but I had to give it away because I was getting a Canon Inkjet printer! I know to refill the cartridges on my own and it really worked! I did not waste any money on refilling! I just bought a huge Ink Bottle for Rs.499 = 10$ and I used it to refill the cartridge about 15 times! The Kodak was a good one! No comments about that, it worked fine!
