It takes me a long time to learn new things. I wonder... Will I be able to understand the new mylot?
So far, I have seen a lot of notifications. None of my posts have been deleted. So which are my deleted answers? Which is the post? Was I deleted or were we all erased from the face of the planet?
It takes me sometime to post an answer. My joints hurt, my native language is not English. Still, I want to talk and answer. Yp make it a real post, have you has mant poststrhat says "Your answer has been deleted because the question it was under was deleted". Not my fault, I say, yet my answer was deleted.
I´ll try to learn a bit.
Do you have these problems? To you think they are due to old age?

It takes me a long time to learn new things too. I have to go over and over it again until I finally understand things sometimes it will take me a month to learn new things. When I was younger and took my G.R.D. I passed everything except the reading part I had to read somethings and then write what it was they were talking about and I failed and had to take it over. But I still have that problem to this day it makes me feel old and sometimes I feel stupid or slow. But the more time I spend on learning it I will understand it. I don't know if it has to do with old age maybe I really could not say I really do not know. Have a good day.

To tell you the truth, feeling old or young are just moods for me. And I was just playing with the words.
I see you have a Mexican flag in your avatar. Let me offer you this
Take care

Thank you for the picture of the flag that was great!!!! My husband is from Mexico. My mother always told me your are young at heart and you are as young as you feel or vice versa old as you feel. I am always happy so I feel like I am young at heart! Take care.

I think everybody got those notices. my friend anniefannie got them & she hadn't answered any discussions. It's just a glitch they have to work out i;m sure w/the new system. I know old age causes alot of problems for sure but not this one i don't think.

Naw, Jo! I was just playing with words! In fact I´m very happy. My back has stopped hurting for some reason and my shoulder is better since I´m following the advice of mt therapist friend. She gave me some exercises, ice, and a pill the relax at night.

hi marg! LOL. Nope, I don't think you are that old and you are not the only one who receive notification such as this. I got some of it right now and I'm cool about it because, it is part of the new mylot and I think it is for the better. Hihi... I also got me thinking what are violated questions I answered the past days...har!har!LOLs. But according to Ms.Alice they will do something about it. I think in the future they will put some details on what topic it was. (violate) Like you, I will also try to learn more and do better next time! Maybe starting today. lol. Cheer up!

Mine just said that my answers were tçdeleted because the post I had answered was deleted. So, I hope, no fault of my own. And about age, toaday I´m about 10 to 15 years younger than yesterday. Yesterday I wasn´t feeling too well. But a day in bed (with some comings to the computer and a couple to the kitchen) with the adition of a lot of reruns of CSI and the like put me in shape again.
Take care!

Considering that you have the same age as my eldest granddaughter, I will not talk about age.
Believe me, love, I do have a passion to live. I use all my online earnings to go to vacations. I love adventures. And when my back, knees or feet don´t hurt TOO much, I run.I´m quite young for a 64 (almost 65) year old woman.
Take care!

My first and foremost reasoning would be like do you really need to understand everything around us? Do we ever understand everything? I’m in mylot for so long now, yet I don’t know all its nuances simply coz I don’t want to…I love and enjoy my discussions and have my select interests and get a modest pay so I’m really not into all the other things that mylot offers. Similarly, in the new mylot, I’m very happy with the changes, with the fact that when we are adding to responses, we can see all the previous responses, the options of smileys have increased and in general it looks OK…I would not really want to understand all its nuances.

You are wise! I had already noticed the new emoticons and I love that. It´s just that I felt punished by those notifications but then discovered that none came from my posts, so that a good thing.

marguicha hi no it has nothing to do with your age or you, we all got the same notifications. it is a glitch that mylot admins are wo rking
feverishly to fix before the next email , according to goask Alice, so its not you or me or any of use who posted responses, its the new ones who will not learn you do not ask questions in your discussions that are already in the questions and answers,so they will be deleted and they were and we were unfortunate enough to have responded to these rule breaking discussions. a warning to newcomers do not ask those stupid questions as you are not only making trouble for yourself but for all of us dumb enough to answer your rule breakiing discussions.

I am a teacher. I was a professor, but I´m a teacher in my heart. So I just cannot let it pass when someone is making an evident mistake and is doing it because he doesn´t know better. If someone with over 100 posts makes the mistake of promoting sites or placing links, I think their posts should be deleted. If a newbie does the same, I´d delete the offending part but explain what´s wrong.
I disagree in the use of "stupid" questions. I´d rather believe it´s ignorance. But I just learned that mylot will tell each member why its post was deleted. That will help everyone and we´ll get more quality posts.

hey ma'am, how are you doin'? Everything will be fine. Right now you're doing great. Not all old people can do what you can do. These problems are just little things to make us slow down and do some reminiscing. Life is great. Don't let it bother you. We'll all get used to the new mylot in no time. Cheers!

You are right! In fact, I like adventures more than many of the people my age. Only one year ago I went as a sailor aboard a friend´s sailing boat. It was awesome but we had to cook, clean, pull ropes, learn the exact knots for each one. We also had a tempest with a motor problem so my job was to go down and make the smallest member of the crew (my friends´ grandson) keep quiet by telling him stories.

I read your contribution and I'm truly inspired with your committment to My Lot. I have been around My Lot for quite a while as well and I'm just getting to learn the new environment now. I think three of my answers had been deleted as the main discussion topic had been deleted, I have no idea why this took place though, maybe the terms were broken in some way by the original discussion poster. Anyway, I hope to be accessing My Lot as well when I reach pensionable age. Good luck with your future posting. Andrew

Luckily I am still quite young, so this doesn't really affect me.
However, I have noticed that with age, my ability to learn new stuff is slowly decreasing, and now I have to work twice as hard to get anything new to sink into my aging brain

Thank you my dear. But I must recognise I said it with some humour. I don´t feel old most of the time. Parts of my body are, but not my whole self. The avatar you see is a picture of myself going aboard a sailboat in my last vacations(Jan 2009). It was not a cruise, I had to follow the orders of the captain (my closest friend) and be a sailor. And I still run with my youngest grandchildren when my back doesn´t hurt too much.

Awww no I don't think it's anything to do with your age, you don't say how old you are, but you don't sound old in the slightest, and considering English is not your first language, you do brilliantly. We all have problems understanding things sometimes, especially when they CHANGE what we had only just got used to. Stick with it, we can all learn together. ;o)

My problems are not with language, Debsykins. They are with new technology. I can read in five languages but my 8 year old grandson knows more about computers than me. And this computer I´m working on was made piece by piece by my 15 year old grandson. We went together to buy the parts and the boy (small for his age) talked at the same level with a big fat salesman while I stood in awe.
Thoseare the changes I don´t seem to grasp.
Take care!
(whispers* don´t tell anyone, but I´ll be 65 in a couple of months)
Have a lovely day!

No, i don't think so.
It has never been my belief that knowledge will be limited as one ages.
I try to learn new things and i dont think im old for it.
With myLot, i was like you during my first week.I even put this shoutout where i
said "BE NICE, I'M NEW HERE"
Dont worry , soon u will know everything u need to know,it takes a lot of patience
and whole lot of interest.
