Something that you do not take much time, not very sofisticated, that visit was not announced, but you want your kids friends feel good, and want their parents to be as nice to your children when they visit theirs friends home too.
Sandwich ,cookies, a special food that only you know it, or simply you buy from Mc'Donalds or pizza for them to enjoy? Some ice cream or you will try to cook a fast cake?
How you will make these young people feel good, and your kids to be proud of their mother? or the father of course?

Easy icesmile, but you need hands on practice to get the right texture. I once had a cafe that sell cotton soft buns and it was selling like hotcakes. Customers eat buns for breakfast, lunch and teatime in my place. I gave up when the response was too much to handle with me alone doing the baking. My hands become sore because of too much handling of the yeast dough. But I still do it in small quantity at home.

it is for the meat lovers. its a combination of pork cut into pieces and chicken marinated in some herbs and spices (garlic, vinegar, soy sauce, ground pepper and laurel leaves, etc) and cooked well done.

I would ask them if what they wanted if they wanted to go somewhere or if they wanted to order a pizza or if they wanted me to cook something and if they did I would ask them what they wanted.

Hi icesmile
It is nice to have your children bring their friends into your home. It gives you an opportunity to see just who they are socializing with and to see how they conduct themselfs in the presence of their peers.
A really fun thing to do with kids for food is to make fajatas. Its really quick to stir fry some beef and chicken, julianne some peppers and onions and whatever other vegetables they like, dice up some tomatoes, add guacamole and sour cream, open up a pkg of shredded mexican cheese and dinner is served. The kids can heat up their tortillas and fix their own and that way they are getting involved with the meal too. Its easy and delicious, something kids love. Bringing people together with food is always fun. For dessert, I would do ice cream sundaes which again, each can make their own.

Yes, that so much is permitted, i am so happy that my sons have the same friends and believe they will be friends for all life, are 6 friends who were in the same school, always together, or in my house or to one of them , however, are all satisfied (we parents) as their friendship evolved, and we are happy to come to me or others to be together and discuss, how can we try to prepare what they like, to make them a joy, they are good kids, work and learn at the same time .If you see how all eat, and laugh is great to see them as they eat everything in 5 minutes, and more ask, i love them, are great, often changing to me and my bad days.

If it is a surprise visit, I just call for deliveries from fastfoods or serve them with juice and sandwiches. If they tell me beforehand, I usually cook pasta and bake muffins for them to enjoy. I love it when my children go to our house working on their school projects or other stuff. I feel more comfortable than my children going to somewhere else which I can't see what they are doing.

My boys are big now (20), but now come with the same friends since childhood, and as they go to the same young people in the house, i am friends for a long time with their parents, and all are satisfied, ever know where they are ; still are some great Principles, which I never made trouble, only joy; they all are great kids; i hope that they can hear me, they say that now are young man, not kids...

When my children were younger, I made them homemade pizza for parties. I also did a chicken dish with a wheat germ coating and mushroom sauce. Getting the wheat germ in was healthy, and they loved the taste. I also like to include salads in every party meal, and roasted vegetables are easy to make. I have a fast fudge pie that they seemed to enjoy. For certain kinds of parties, I make potato salad and coleslaw. There is a California casserole I like to make and is well received. A crowd favorite is always spaghetti and meatballs. I also make an ice cream dessert with ladyfingers and chocolate sauce that is easy and well liked; it's from Julia Child.

If I get to know before hand and have the time I will try to show off my cooking skills by doing some innovative cooking which the kids will surely enjoy. But if it is a sudden visit then i will try to get some stuff from outside and make some quickies on my own and mix and match and serve the children. Any way I love to do something different and won't feel it a burden.

I love when my sons friends come to visit, and i try to make some surprises if i know before their visit, if i do not know, and they come unannounced, i make some sandwiches with butter and cheese, hot from the oven, and I will offer ice cream, which always is in my refrigerator, or I make some pies with cheese and ham, however, avoid to buy ready made, they like what I prepare the house
