How about having a second revolution?

You hear people from every state in the union complaining about our congress, they don't listen, they just do what they want to do, they don't have the same priorities as us. So how about having a second American Revolution? We don't have to go out and buy gun and ammunition, all we have to do is use our vote. This year as the state you live in has it primary elections, don't vote for the incumbent. It does not matter what party you belong to, if you want a Democrat as your representitive thats fine, just don't vote for the incumbent, same for Republicans. Then after the incumbent is out of the picture, begin bombing the candidate from your party, or both for that matter, with emails and snail mail telling them that you got rid of the incumbent because s/he did not listen to the voice of the We the People and that is they done they will only have one term. This will only work if everyone that is tired of the BS that is Washington DC, so start emailing friends and family and having them do the same and lets have a bloodless revolution.

I've voted that way for years. If I'm happy with the way that things are going, I vote for the incumbent. If I'm not, I vote for his or her opponent. I'm not certain that any of us have a right to complain about Congress. We put the same people year after year after year and then we complain about their performance. I think that people like to say that they are tired of the BS in Washington DC but they're not tired enough of it to get off the couch and do something as simple as vote to change it.

I can not agree more, to many people think that because they vote they can complain and things should change. It is time that we start to complain with our vote and not just our voice. They don't listen to our word, but they have to listen to our vote.

I don't plan on voting for any of the incumbents. It is past time to clean house. It will take a few election cycles to get it done...but life long politicans have to go!!!
Call for a revolution...but say it with love.

That sounds good enough but what if someone happens to LIKE their Senators and Representative? What if they don't feel there's no good reason to "throw them out", rather there are more reasons to keep them in office? Trust me, there are many districts and states in which if I lived I'd be leading the charge to get rid of the current lawmakers but we can only vote in our own districts and our own states.
I AM undecided about the Senate primary in my state, in fact I'm VERY torn.

I got a good quote for you annie:
"if you think your congressman is doing a good job, then you are part of the problem."

Well Annie, lets see, so are you happy with the fact that Pennsylvania rankes 15th in earmarks over the past two years, with $1,815,661,074. Or are you happy that they droped from 8th in 2008, to 18th in 2009? The truth is that this nothing to do with if someone likes their Senators and Representatives or not, it is about being the voice that that represent. Your great Senator Spector thought that he might lose his job if ran again as a Republican so he jumped to the Democrats, is that what you like about him? Is that the good job that you sent him to Washington to do? The fact is that he is not there to be your voice, but instead to reep the rewards of being a Senator. Just think about all most 3 billion dollars that you were not aware of being added to spending bills that we have to have passed. Is that how you want to be represented?

Our votes don't count any more...the politicians and the lobbyist that run Washington do what they want to do no matter what they American people say when they vote...

That is why you vote the incumbent out and inform the new rep. or senator that they will only be in office for one term if they don't do as We the People tell them to. You also tell them that if they listen to lobbyist they are out also. They do as they want because We the People let them, it is time for that to end, but it will not end as long as you think you can not change things. If you believe you can't change things you can't. If you vote them out the next one will start to listen, or maybe the next one, but you keep doing it til they do listen. No one wants to spend all the time and money to win an office if they are only going to keep it for one term. We all want congress to impose term limits on themselves, while we have the pwoer to impose our own. I don't care how long they are in congress, as long as they are listening to and have the best interest in mind of We the People.
