The is a portion of the mail I received from the National Democratic Committee. President Obama has been able to accomplish a great deal during his first year in office ... ... historic gains in health insurance reforms despite intense GOP resistance. . . . our economy has been pulled back from the brink of collapse . ... our financial institutions and investment markets are being better regulated. . . . additional relief is being provided to those who are unemployed. ... troops are being withdrawn from Iraq and shifted to Afghanistan. ... America's stature in the world community has been improved. Not to forget a request for a donation!! (Hmm to perpetrate this myth further??) Do you agree or disagree? Your comments? The photo shows the complete page.

Sure, our stature has improved--we're providing the world a good laugh! We are the laughing stock of the world, a populace that is so gullible that any smooth talker can hypnotize us and promise the moon and we'll believe him. Obama has done nothing in his first year except make a bad financial situation worse. Hell, for awhile there every time he opened his mouth the stock market fell! I wish he'd quit campaigning and start governing but I'm sure that by now, he knows he's in over his head and it's nothing like what he thought it might be.

It would be nice if he remembered he was responsible for running our country....NOT trying to be idolized as if he was an American Idol contestant.

By the way what has happened to all Obama lovers who usually would be the first to say that the achievements are correct. Perhaps because they cannot back them up with facts!

I think rollo put it well. It is amazing that anything good, they will take credit. Any thing bad is Bush's fault. Their arrogance is astounding. I really think they are just making Bush look better. 3 years to go...............

What I would ask is , does the mail give examples of each and every one of these "improvements"? Ity's no good making these claims without ample evidence.

Oh good grief. Even watching the news on CBS this morning, they pretty much refuted everything Obama has supposedly accomplished. I don't normally watch CBS news because they have a tendency to be biased. Not that other stations aren't...Anyway, Bob Scheiffer was even dragged out of bed early to talk to one of the morning anchors about how angry Americans are with Obama. Obama's administration's forecast is to make 90 something thousand new jobs this year, never mind that more than that have been cut this year. And the healthcare situation has not endeared him to the American public either.

It appears that the media has decided (hopefully) to emulate the quote "We come not to praise Caesar (Obama) but to bury him" I am so sick of the media only showing even the tiniest thing which shows Obama in a good light and yet not reporting the mess he is making of our country.

Historic gains in health insurance reform despite intense GOP resistance --- I would disagree because no health insurance reform was passed. Resistance was not just from the GOP but from moderate Democrats and the American voters themselves. A very misleading statement. Our economy has been pulled back from the brink of collapse - Considering the fact that the recession was hyped in the media before it even happened, I would say that the drop in consumer confidence was to an extent, manufactured and encouraged by the left-leaning media for two year while the economy was still fairly strong. The increase in unemployment began immediately following Obama's election and increased dramatically following his inauguration. Obama and his liberal agenda spelled an unfriendly business climate and businesses began cutting back before he even took office. Did he save a few large financial institutions? Perhaps, but was that the right thing to do? I am not convinced that propping up failing business is a boon to the economy in the long run. Our financial institutions are better regulated. - Only in the sense that they don't allow big bonuses to be handed out unless they are being given to friends of the administration such as the AIG bonuses. Additional relief is being provided to those who are unemployed. - It is necessary to extend benefits for many, but it's the unemployment rate that is the real problem. Those who end up with no benefits under unemployment will simply move onto welfare roles and other types of public assistance. Until there are jobs, this won't get any better. Troops are being withdrawn from Iraq and shifted to Afghanistan. - Considering that Biden has just taken the credit for the growing stability in Iraq despite the fact that both Biden and Obama voted against the surge under Bush is quite comical. Any credit here belongs to Bush. America's stature in the world has improved. - I don't agree but then, I don't care. In Germany, 66% of the population holds an unfavorable view of America, but they all love Obama. I really don't think that Obama's apologies for the US and bowing to foreign dignitaries has done our image any good at all. Toadying up to dictators doesn't really fly as a foreign policy in my opinion.

Personally I think the whole letter is a bunch of bunk. None of this has happened. Who's leg are they pulling anyway?
