I saw another discussion asking women something about what type of handbag they preferred. I didn't really read it, because I knew right away that it was not a discussion that I would be able to respond effectively to. However, this discussion did give me an idea for a similar discussion of my own directed toward the guys here.
There are many different types of wallets available for guys to choose from. They are made of leather, nylon, or some other material. They come in many different shapes, colors, and styles, such as bi-fold and tri-fold. So, I am just curious to find out what kind of wallet other guys here prefer. I prefer to use a leather tri-fold style wallet. The color doesn't really matter to me. I will use a black or brown one. I am thinking of getting myself one of those bigger ones that will hold my stuff that is in my wallet, as well as my checkbook at the same time. Maybe having one of these will help me to become better at writing stuff down when I use my debit card or write a check...
So what type of wallet do you prefer?

The wallet I currently use is rare and vintage. I think it is like 20 years old. It's a bi-fold wallet, made of nice brown leather. I love the smell of leather items. The wallet is designed like a banknote, the outer side of it shows one side of the banknote that was in use in our country in the beginning of 20th century. It's a quite unique wallet, I got it from my grandfather.

Damn, don't know why, but that picture hasn't been added to my comment, so I added one into "My photos", have a look at it from there.

Disclaimer: I am not a guy so my thoughts on this matter are based solely on the observations that I've made of the males that are in my life.
Both my brother and my husband use bifold style wallets. The reason that both of them make this decision is that they both feel they are more comfortable on their tails. They also both have leather wallets because they are more durable than wallets made of other materials.

I have actually used a bi-fold wallet in the past. This one had a zipper on it too, and it was actually pretty nice, and it lasted for years until one day when I left it on my coffee table with a new pup in the house. Needless to say, that was the end of that wallet LOL I wouldn't be against using one of those again if I could find a good one...

I find this pretty interesting actually. Me, well I have had the same wallet for about 13 years now, a bi-fold, black, leather wallet, you know the traditional square-ish shaped ones. The thing has been through a beating and is still holding together like a champ and I plan to stick with it till it won't hold anything anymore.
Thanks for posting.

I usually do the same thing. I used the same one for about 7 years before my dog got it and destroyed it. LOL I have had the one I have now for about 3 years...

hi! I prefer the leather wallets and mine is also a leather one, because it looks really nice and it is also more stable and qualitative from the other ones, and doesn't rend like the textile ones or these from artificial leather.

I prefer leather wallets as well, because it offers more protection to the stuff inside from things like moisture, and it is more durable than those nylon wallets. There is also no Velcro closure on the leather ones to worry about wearing out over time...
