My girlfriend and I both adore the white hearts at valentines. It's something about the purity of the white rose which I can relate the white hearts on valentines day with. I feel red is too traditional for us and for about three years now we have been exchanging more white hearts than red.

If it were just one I would pick the white heart because of what it stands for. It stands for eternal purity. When you get married, the bride wears white, White doves are sometime throw up in the air to symbolize positive energy. That's why I would prefer the white heart.

Okay, usually Red for Valentine's Day, and I say this because it is the symbol of passion and love. When you give someone a red rose, it means that you love them. Red is definitely the right color.
White is more for weddings, baptisms, and purity. White is a very pure color.

Hi there Ice Smile.
Well first i thought that you were talking about roses, in which case i would have said white ( i like them better then the red ones), but now that i see you talking about hearts i never got a white one before. I gave my girlfriend 1 pink one and 1 red one last year and i have seen a black and white one this year, but it is fairly expensive. Since i am stuck with my exams and with my works up until 22 of February we will be celebrating with something we really like (a pizza from pizza hut) and a good movie and will probably exchange some gifts on the 24th of February (national valentine's alternative - Dragobete).

Hi Elitess, i talk about hearts for sure, not about roses.Do not want a white heart from your girlfriend? Are you sure? You are sure that you never got a white heart? A white heart is a heart that loved you first, was not one there before you, a pure heart. Do you want a white heart from your girlfriend or not? I used color just to make a pun,i used just a rhetorical effect.

Would love to receive a red heart. It's more passionate and love-related for me compared to white. Anyway, advance happy Valentines to you!

Red and white are my two favourite colours, so either one is nice, but both of them are extra nice. Also, it's not the colour of the valentine that counts, it's the thought behind it, that counts, and the love of the person who is giving it to me that counts. Also, hearts are very big in Denmark, so the heart, and the colours red and white are very important to me (you can see this from my flags) so I really enjoy Valentine's Day.
