I quit working as a bartender back in mid November and have gained an excessive amount of weight. I have went from being 130 pounds to being 152 pounds. I guess this isn't so bad because I am 5 foot 8 inches tall and was very thin before I gained weight. However I have gained too much weight like 22 pounds oh my lord hat is to much. Any ideas on how to get down to a good number and get fit doing so? I have three daughters so time is a factor as I don't have to much of it to myself lol!

Hey Ronita!
I am in the same boat and started a journaling discussion here on MyLot. People have been very great about giving me tips. I would love to have you check them out!
The biggest thing I can say to you is STOP what you know put the pounds on. I know that sounds too simple, but if you really look at what you did to put them on, you'll quickly see what you need to do to change back into who you were at 130! Make small changes on a regular basis and soon you have your old or a new healthier lifestyle started!
Come check out my journal and join me and we'll get fit together!!
You can do this!!

That is a really good way to look at it for sure. Just look at what you did to put the pounds on and back track it to make it all better again ... lol! That may just be the best way to try to figure out my little problem. It just seems so easy to put it on and so hard to take it back off is all ... lol!

I understand the not having much time for yourself. With 3 kids, I would suggest the wii fit. I got it and I love it. My kids love it too. There are lots of fun games that get you exercise while having fun. My youngest is 2 and he is able to do some of the games even. He's pretty good at it. Or, just make anything you do exercise. Like housework, if you have steps, run up and down a few times. There are lot of exercises to do around the house. Also watch your eating and try to eat healthier if that is part of what caused you to lose weight. I'm doing weight watchers and they have a points system to gauge how much you can and should eat in a day. Some things you'd be surprised how unhealthy they are. Even getting a salad in some places is just as bad as eating a cheeseburger.

I may just have to try WII Fit my 8 year old has a nintendo WII and it would be fine to get fit while having fun with the kids as well. I just wish it could just fall off as easy as it came on ... lol! That would just be much better to squeeze into my schedule. Oh well I am guessing probably not in this life time ... lol!

I feel your pain, I gained 25lb since October...so now I am trying to figure out how I am going to lose it... I like the Wii fit Idea. My problem is my best friend came to live with us while she gets back on her feet...and she like to cook. Well that's not good cause I like to eat. Exercise isn't easy for me since I have chronic A-fib and get exhausted just walking from the car to the store front...lol I am thinking the wii would be good though as it would maybe keep me from just sitting around.. Walking is good, maybe you could get the girls to walk with you... you maybe could find a park or mall or someplace you can all walk and talk together a couple of times a week? I wish someone would walk with me...lol I am buying a new bike next month so I will be riding around town soon..and that I don't mind doing by myself.
Oh another thing is if you have a bike but no time to ride...you can get a little stand to raise the back up and use it as a stationary bike while watching a tv show.
Hope this helps and good luck.

You must first go to a doctor because the symptoms may be excessive weight gain
