I am a PC user, and I love PCs because there is so much that you can do with a PC, but it seems like everywhere I go, I encounter Mac users. I know that Macs do not break down very much, but I also know that there are only so many things that a person can do with a Mac.
So, PC and Mac users, tell me, which computer do you think is the greatest?

Alrighty where to begin... I myself am a Mac user and I have to to say that I prefer Mac over PC any day. I have used PCs since I was in elementary school and I can honestly say that Macs are much more reliable. As far as who has the more advanced technology I would have to say PCs do. Anyone seen that tabletop computer Microsoft is working on? Youtube it and you'll be amazed. What Microsoft failed to do was put out a product that worked efficiently and quickly without having to be messing with service packs and all this other stuff. Apple has done a great job at establishing itself as an icon among the new generation and because that it's going to be a very very very long while before Apple ever really has to worry about going out of business. It's also a status thing. You see people driving cars with Apple stickers on the back. It's something that people can be proud of. So I think Apple is going to win this fight by far. It's gotten to the point even windows looks complicated...
What say you?

Okay, so what is it about PCs that make you prefer them over Macs?
I like being able to do work for my university and download music at the same time.

You can do that on a Mac as well. You can use limewire freely without having to really worry about viruses and things like that. But back to the main thing... Mac has an interface which is built for multitasking. This is why Macs are some of the better computers to be doing multimedia work. If you go any recording studio the computers they're using are Macs. You can do university work and download music at the same time with no problem. I do it all the time

I like PC's because they are easier to work on and work with. A Mac has its own style and just because you hear that they are virus free doesn't mean anything. If they plan to take over the market one day they will be full of the worms that come from the rotten apples at Mac. You can download iTunes on a PC but you can't download Windows 7 on a Mac.

Macs are often virus free because no one will waste their time making a virus for a Mac.

Actually I'm going to disagree with your last statement here. You can run windows on a Mac using a software called "parallel" I think. I can't remember the title of it exactly but something like that. It allows you to run both Mac OSX and windows AT THE SAME TIME. It actually looks kinda funny if you ask me but if you can run both operating systems on the same computer then it's kinda like the only computer you'll ever need. Now THAT you CAN'T do on a PC.

I have used both. I personally think the mac is a better machine. I think it doesn't break down as much because it is not a popular as the pc and therefore, not as many viruses are written to attack the Mac.
I would never buy a Mac because whenever there is new software or PC adaptable appliance, it is always written for the PC first. Later a work around or version will be written for the Mac, but it is just a hassle setting it up.
Bill Gates won the software war and the PC reigns supreme, so live with it. Until someone figures out a way to make every single device use the same software, like the USB port, we are still at the mercy of the PC.

Well the first virus was on a PC. yipee!!! The Antivirus softwares like Norton and McAfee was born. Software piracy first introduced in PC. Well that's why lots of great software developer closed down. Well maybe soon Bill Gates Microsoft. I hope so will not. So don't use pirated software and stop spreading virus.

It's not a computer debate but an OS debate. I'm using MacOS at work, and it's very reliable, but definitely bad for gaming and I have a desktop with WindowsXP at home for games.
Actually, I'm surfing with a Linux notebook : no spywares, no need of an antivirus...
Every OS has cons and pros. When I have a task to do, the only question I'm asking me is : can I do it more easily in Linux, MacOS or Windows ? Sorry rogue13xmen13, but the "Mac vs PC" discussion is nonsense.

I always thought that it was because of awesome design. I won't lie, the design for the iPod and the Macbooks are very lovely designs, but when it comes to game play, I much prefer a PC.

I am a PC user as well, and I will admit that Macs have a nice design to them and they look nice, but looks are not everything.

howdy rogue13xmen13!
Apple Mac Geek in the house boys and girls huraay!!!
Does the greatest computer means that who has the most buyers or users is the greatest computer? PC has many users and buyers than a Mac coz they are cheaper computer. But do these cheaper PC computers as the greatest computer?
Ok which do you think is the greatest car Nissan Versa or Ferrari? So probably the Nissan Versa coz its cheaper and has much more user than Ferrari.
Of course we are not talking about cars here we are talking about computers. But PC specially the customize to make greater computer like a car. Like putting some neon LED tube lights color blue, pink or whatever. Painting so cool the case even painting it up using car painting techniques. Putting big blowers or using heatsinks with ice cooled water some with radiators. Has lots and lots of Harddisk in it. More harddisk mean more heat so need additional blowers. And so on. If you don't like customize pc you can have Alienwares or Dells or Falcons. And these computer can be use just for games, games, games and games. Coz you are running Windows on the PC. Oh wow that's nice. Yep PC is the greatest PC with Windows and Games.
Thanks and Enjoy! myLot!

oh hi there unnamedny! how are you?
Are we here discussing the greatest computer? Or the greatest best buy computers? But rogue13xmen13 questions the greatest computer not the greatest buy computers. His servo is about computer functionality, usability, and stability.
But if we discussing the best and most buy computers of course the winner will be the PC because they are the cheapest. Example netbooks and customized PC. BUT, for high quality standards, high critical computing and serious functionality, usability and stability they are not really the greatest for a computer. Better to use Linux OS on a PC rather than MS Windows OS. MS Windows OS PC it easier if you maintain the OS nicely like using scandisk, defragging and putting some antivirus. But if don't it not easier as thinking of.
Yep just almost everybody PC users telling us Mac Users that Window PC has more games than Mac. Yeah your right is the most ridiculous I ever had also. That's why there are Gaming Rig PC Branded or Customize PC out there. duh!?!?!? And some are more expensive than Mac Pro. duh!?!!?!? Of course the most expensive desktop computer can ever have are on Apple Mac Pro price are more than $20,000. But that's not for gaming...... lol.... It is for producing a lots of money. Like making, editing and producing movies. Or even developing games for PC!!. And for high critical computing for networking, conceptualizations, virtualizations and visualizations.
If you are gonna use an Apple Mac you'll will realize there are thousands or more application you have thinking of on a Mac. And all have sense. And much cheaper than on the applications on a MS Windows PC. And Macs has more effective and efficient solutions than on a Windows PC. Plus a bonus of fast, reliable, stable and secured OS.
Without paying a dime? Are you sure? Are using pirated software? If you are earning so well on your Window PC please buy the genuine software. It will good for the software developer and good for you also. Snagit for Windows $49.95 can download trial version.
Snagit for MAC are FREE to download but its beta. But what the heck Mac OS X has built-in customizable screen capture application. And Quicktime X for screen recording also in the box. And of course there a lot nice third parties screen captures or recording applications some are free and some are not free.
Your Crystal Internet Meter is not also free. $19.95. For monitoring network and memory. Mac don't have that Crystal Internet Meter but Mac has built-in monitoring, utility and tools for networking, memory, devices or hardware systems. There are third parties free applications like the "iStat". Also "Little Snitch" (euro 29.95) this for protecting, monitoring and controlling outgoing connections, that you'll never know sending out some private sensitive information on the internet but thanks to Little Snitch. Other apps you have said, you'll just have to search and you'll find what your looking for. BTW how did you found out your applications on your Window PC of course by searching. That's also the same thing on the Apple Macs or other OS.
Well good for your 4 hard drives inside your PC case unless you have a very well temperature environment conditions. Like if your on a air-conditioned room.
Good day!

I have a Mac because its great at multitasking. I'm a power user that likes to keep many windows and applications on at the same time. On a Mac, it doesn't really slow down but while on a PC, it would get sluggish and hard to use. A Mac is also good for media and lots more but I don't want people to flame me. Just my opinions.
