What makes someone a prodigy or genius?

I'm really curios as to what actually makes someone a genius or what people call prodigy. dose the ability to solve dificult math problems at a young age make someone a prodigy? or is it the ability to draw sing or do other things that are considered dificult or abnormal or amazing for anyone especially a young child.
What makes someone a prodigy or genius in your opinion and have you ever been called a prodigy?

I believe that psychologist has measurement or criteria to identify a genius and it is base on the intelligence quotient of a child, his/her exceptional creativity and skills. For me, I think someone is a genius if he/she (at the a very young age) can do awesome things that even an old person can't do. Painters and artist are the ones that blew my mind away especially kids who can paint and create wonderful art out of their creative minds and explicit imagination are just astonishing. Dose any form of creativity count like being able to knit using only your fingers, or creating different things with cloth material without the use of needles? I often wondered if being able to do these things would make me a genius probably not, but I've been called one at least once before heha.

Genius or prodigy is often mentioned to some one who is excelling in some respective field irrespective to their ages..
We call sachin a cericket prodigy, vishwanathan Anad as a chess prodigy..
Newton a scientist ,he is genius , he is genius respective with the find of gravitational force, but we did not see his age..
Nobody ever called me a genius, but i know myself i can prove this world that i'm capable of doing things given to me!!!

I have never been called a prodigy or a genius. I don't know what makes people that way but maybe they were just born that way and it was a gift from God. Or maybe they spent lots of free time studying everything they could.
