What would you say to someone who knows how to hack into an account but doesn't abuse his or her knowledge. I guess it would be the same as knowing how to hot wire a car but never actually doing it. I've run into people who have told me that I'm a bad person because I was interested to expand my knowledge in using a computer and I actually learned some things on hacking. I have never actually used to hack into someone's account. When I was still experimenting I made fake email accounts for me to practice on. But is it bad to have these skills?

eponce09,
It is good to be eager to learn and broaden your horizon but you need to be practical to see if you are really interested deep down.
IMO, I feel you should concentrate on what you are doing and pursuing - which is in our parents good old adage where it says that we should always complete what we all started. Your basic academics will lay the foundations for your own principles and perceptions, it separates you from minnows.
I think you know and understands yourself better than anyone but sometimes you need to be logical and practical. You need to see if you are really cut out for this field and judging with your current post I think you have a long way to catch up. I'd say that you keep that fire warm on the side while you complete what's at hand and without any excuse or compromise on your part.
Take care and have a nice day.
