Well discipline is a must but discipline doesn't mean that the student can't enjoy his life, have fun etc. It just means a student must understand his responsibilities and spend time on his studies also. A student must not only study for success but for his knowledge also then only will he understand he true meaning of studies and start enjoying them. If a student thinks about utilizing the present rather than thinking about succeeding and always trying to achieve his dreams , no one can stop that person from becoming a great one not only in studies but in person also.

Discipline in his self in studying less night & social life. Concentrate more on his studies than love life & the determination to succeed & get his goal. If you will just believe in your self.

Yes discipline plays a major role in a student's life. Without it, a student may do unnecessary things which might actually just bring out the worse in him/her. Aside from discipline, I believe that students must do the things that they enjoy (i.e. taking courses from their field of interests). There are some students who just take a course because their parents want them to. But anyway, parents should instill in their children the importance of education so students will not take it for granted. Aside from these, hard work is important to be really successful. A little push is needed so the students will do their best. Patience is also crucial since studying takes a lot of time and effort.
