So many holy books paint people as sinners, flawed in the eyes of God. Are people truly evil?? Do you think that most people think evil thoughts?? Are there no good people in the world except ourselves?? What a person thinks is often what they become. How does it change you, viewing everyone as evil?? Will it change how you treat others?? Can't quite love them anymore now can you?? Is this something you are taught?? Is religion teaching this?? There is a reason you are flawed and a sinner. If religion can't find something wrong with you then you don't need them. You can't be healed or fixed without them. Isn't it Evil to generate ideas of flaws in people expecting them to be perfect?? Sure there are people with problems. Some are selfish. Some are heartless. Some are mean and hateful. They are this way simply because they do not understand. It takes lessons, learning and growing to see. I see goodness in most everyone. I see kind acts from strangers everyday. Sure there are people choosing the wrong direction but consequences will guide them back to goodness. Everyone is worthy of my unconditional love. Don't all God's children deserve this?? We are all God's children. How about you? Do you see the world as evil?? Be careful how you answer. It will show me exactly who you are. Of course, that is who I want to see anyway.

I believe that people are born nuetral; neither good nor evil they have the ability to choose through their actions to be one or the other we all have the capacity to be evil but most of us choose to be good instead I dont see the world as evil, even though there is obvious evil in the world I do feel that the Christian church uses the concept of evil as a tool to keep their followers in line and in need of the church

Lots of good comments here. I can only say that I don't think the christians have a monopoly on using those concepts. I do think they are hurting some by using them. Lots of people have low self esteem. Perhaps some of that view comes from teaching children something is wrong with them. Things like that can stay with a person for a lifetime. I always try to point those I find in the right direction. Thanks again for those comments!!

hi bird123 no indeed as I spent many years of my life working as a nurses aide and have seen outstanding instances of the goodness in mankind. Doctorw working feverishly over little Billie Sunday to get the peanuts out of his little lungs and save his four year old life. other instances like that,no I think people are for the most part good and kind. We I suppose all have the ability to do evil things but most of us have consciences that will not let us do evil. The God I believe in is a God of love. So that is how I live my life and how I view people too.

Yes, most people are good. The good deeds don't seem to get the attention evil ones do. Thanks everyone for your comments!!

I don't think people are evil, in the beginning, but some can choose that path, if they wish. From my experience, I feel that the Catholics (and others) have promoted evil being everywhere as a means to control their followers. So, yes, I believe that religion is teaching this. My father was Catholic, and tried to insist that I must be raised Catholic. My mother didn't raise me that way. She believed that I should decide for myself and choose my own path when I was old enough to decide for myself. I try to see the goodness in people. I am an optimist, not a pessimist. And I am pretty straighforward about my opinions and comments.

Yes. God does want us to THINK, rather than follow anyone blindly. Again, yes. Listen to the advice of others but walk your own path. Life's lessons are best learned that way.Let's not forget. Be who you must! It's a part of the plan!......Yes, in spite of what anyone might tell you, you are heading in the right direction. Keep searching for your discoveries. I have found that no matter how much one knows, there is always more to learn. Thanks for stopping by with all your comments!!

Not all peopele are considered wicked by God, just those that reject Him, His love and offer of salvation. Sorry to say that the churches are and have been guilty for preaching anything "but" what Jesus taught. He said that we were to fill the world with the "Gospel of the Kingdom" - that being 'good news' - that God loves us as we are, but that He came to bring us not just life, but ABUNDANT LIFE - overcoming life, as well as peace and joy, and a reason to go on when things are bad. Too many pastors use certain parts of the Bible to beat people up and threaten them with God judging them for every little thing that they think is wrong. They teach that if your're not a part of 'their' church you're either in error or you're just going to hell. Those pastors and those churches are NOT God, therefore they can't save or add too or take from anyone's life. I learned that a long time ago. It is a "relationship" with Jesus that makes the difference - not being in the 'right church.' We are tp love one another, and model true christian attitudes the best we can. Finally, according to the Bible, we are not all God's children - we are His creation, but His children become His children through Christ, and many hate or reject Him. Have a great week. C. C.

You are right about some churchs and pastors, especially pastors who live in million dollar houses. A person's relationship with God is more important than all the religions together. Lastly, I disagree. We are all God's children through some need lessons. A few I'm sorry to say have hard lessons coming. Sometimes, learning can be hard. God surely can handle a few wayward children. After all, that has to be easier than creating universes. Let's not disown anyone just yet.Man sure likes doing it but God is beyond the petty things of man. Thanks for all your comments!!

I think we have a lot of good people in this world, because the nature of human and all kinds of evil they can be good if they are aware of what they do. This world would narrow if only occupied by a bunch of evil people. Nothing is perfect and all that all question marks if we are always curious about everything in this world. Ask it better than we lost the street and have no way to go. Which can change the bad guys become good people are themselves. What they use they lead, and all that was destined.

It is up to people to decide for themselves to start choosing good choices. It never hurts to point them in the right direction when they cross your path. Thanks for your commenrs!!

I really don't know about that. I can still see good in people even if there like that. I just think it really depends on the situation some are born to be one, some are destined to be one.. In the end, it's really you're choice to be on that side or this side.

People aren't destined to be evil. We are all making our free choices. Sometimes our parameters in life are set to where our problem will be brought out to the surface. This forces us to deal with our choices. God is probably smart enough to know what we choose ahead of time. Are we set up by God?? Maybe but we can never really learn until it is our free choice and we do experience the consequences of our choices. Thanks for all your comments!!

Hi bird, Of course people are not evil! We all have a lot to learn, and some more than others, but no one is evil. As I've said so many times, people aren't good and bad, people are just different. We are all on a journey and at different stages in our spiritual evolution. While we cannot change another person, nor should we want to, we can change the way we see them and that can often make all the difference. Blessings.

You say we can not change someone else and yet the nature of this world with it's interaction of people is change. We are all learning and growing but we are all teaching as well. Being at different levels along with different views, the diversity of this world will always have your answer at hand. God is seeing to the education of His children. Thanks for all your comments!!

It is easy to look at people's deeds and label one person good, and another evil. But everyone, even those good people, sometimes thinks evil thoughts, like feeling jealous, covetous or angry with a friend, co-worker or even a stranger in a car who cuts them off. These thoughts are not "good" so they must be evil. What stops these thoughts from becoming actions are the brakes that our moral structure puts on them. If being cross with your neighbor is not good, then the good person who is cross is not wholly good. The person who appears good, is the one who recognizes evil, even in themselves and chooses to put it under the control of God, moral principles, or whatever they choose to call it. The evil person sees his evil as good, as it is good for him without seeing it as detrimental to his character. Socrates said, knowledge is virtue and ignorance is vice. If we understand the ramifications of our deeds, we amend them, hence knowledge equals virtue. If we ignorantly believe that an evil action will benefit us, without realizing the detriment done to our souls and character, we commit vice or evil. Christians have to go a step further, to realize that amending our deeds only affects others. It doesn't change what made us think the thought, or commit the deed. That change of heart is not in our power to accomplish and so we turn to God who knows that flesh is weak, forgives and writes in our hearts His law - so that we may overcome even those little kingdoms of self within us and put Jesus as Lord and King of all.

Those that see their evil deeds as good can not understand the ramifications. That is why everything you do in life will come back to you in time. It is the way to understanding. It shows you exactly what you are doing. For those of us who see this drama in the world and already know the answer. It is just a reminder of what the real answers really are. As far as God is concerned, He will touch everyone's life to teach us the wisdom of the ages. This will happen regardless of your beliefs. God leaves no children behind or in fiery pits. God is Unconditional Love!! Thanks for your comments!!

I dont agree with some statements here. What a person thinks is what what they become. At least, I dont understand it. I like singing, I didnt become a great singer! I thought my English teacher was the most beautiful person on earth, I am not even 1/10th of her, even as a grown up! LOL. So if thinking could change a person I would be Bill Gates, or Queen Elizabeth - nah she is too old, may be somebody younger. he he. Anne Hathway? LOL. Seriously, may be some bit of us may change but the entire us does not! I dont think god created anything that had so much of flaw! If god could create something with that much of flaw and ego, and then suffer at his hands, then god is also falliable isn't it? We all make mistakes, I have made quite a few. I think correcting ourselves so that we dont repeat them, and preventing others from getting hurt with the same mistakes is what life all about. Somethings, of course, we to learn from others. Truly evil! I think it is insecurity that makes people like that. When they are not loved enough, or do not have enough for survival, or fear any form of inadequacy, they take on this offensive stance. Offense is the best defence, remember? So I think that is what is our real enemy, fear, and insecurity. :( And that is what is evil.

What brings fear and insecurity is the unknown, lack of knowledge. Knowledge can solve all problems. You are right in saying i want to be Bill Gates won't make you Bill Gates. There are parameters set for each of us in this world. However, if you believe you can never be Bill Gates, you will never try. Let's not leave out the word often in my statement. What things will people who believe they aren't good enough, never try to accomplish because they are already defeated???? You say that you aren't 1/10 what your teacher is. Are you so sure???Thereis no one exactly like you. You have qualities your teacher will never have. Look deeper into yourself. See what is really there rather than what others want you to believe.Perhaps, you have taught more than you teacher and do not even know. What you believe does change things, now doesn't it?? Thanks for the great comments!!

when people are good , we don't call them god or start believing that they are nagels..in same way we have no right to label anyone 'evil'..it just mean some people have bad behaviour..tats it.

When we start to label, we can define as we please and bunch anyone in any group. There are good and bad choices in this world. Everyone will learn what their actions mean in time.We will all learn. We will all be good. We are all children of God.This is true regardless of how misguided we are. Everyone deserves unconditional love and respect. If you think someone is evil, it is your duty to point them in the right direction. That's what you would do with family, isn't it?? We are all in this together. Thanks for your comments!!

If something purporting to be a holy book tells me that people are inherently evil, I take that as prima facie evidence that the book isn't so holy. This is not at all unrelated to my dismissal of Jhvhist mythology.

What do you envy?? What do you have that others envy which you can not see in yourself? Sometimes wanting is different than having. Once you have them, the wants become meaningless to make way for new wants?? We are spiritual beings in our true nature. If you let the physical possessions go in way of spiritual things, you will find yourself happier.Did you say you were evil???? Hardly, You are a child of God. That makes you special. You will make a difference in this world. Everyone is counting on you!!!You are more special than you know. I believe in you!! Thanks for stopping by with your comments!!
