Beauty and health products are indeed booming nowadays...The reason is because majority of us are so much concerned about this personality development thing...Beauty problems and excess weight has to be controlled all because they can easily be noticed especially in this world we have now in which outward appearance is ranked important...Some people care so much about weight loss just as you have stated while others just brush this issue aside...I know of someone who is much engrossed with this weight loss and resorted in going to health clinics , taking medicines and trying to eat really less ...but sad to say the result is hard to acquire and she indeed up looking disappointed each day...And you know what if i look at herself ? She actually doesn't need to try trimming down, coz she looks simply just fine and attractive the way she is for now...She might have those bulges on her tummy and arms , but generally speaking she is indeed pretty just the way she is now...So, I finally came to her and told her that truth , and there I knew that she's doing it coz men wants slimmer ladies ...So, that's her main point of trying to lose weight...But i told her that if someones heart is really into her , no matter if she's the fattest in town ,he wouldn't care at all and he would even tell her that " FOR ME, YOU'RE STILL THE PERFECT LADY WHOM I WILL LOVE." That's the time I made her think and made her realize and smile...

Hi kev; A Good Debate. have I ever met anyone with this way of thinking? Oh yes and I wonder what on earth has them entwined in such a self defeating behavior. Some people don't seem to get it. I have met elderly people too who figure since that they are nearing 80 that they should be able to eat and do as they please. Vanity isn't part of the picture since the wrinkles have set in. Each to their own.
Some people eat to try to feel better, eat as an escape. have you not ever done that? I have. When I get stressed out, I crave chocolate. Not just any chocolate though, it has to be a high quality dark chocolate.
I have met some people who are a larger body type but who continue to eat and eat and all the wrong foods. Like bread, number one!
I have taken a look at the link provided and thank you. The information is of interest. I diet, I am on a weight loss plan and it is because I need to take better care of myself, plus I have people who depend on me so I must be well in order to be able to provide help. How much good am I to others if i am not well? Plus I gained some extra weight and have a tone of cloths I can not get into now. Some of my favorites too so is an inspiration.
As for the link provided, talking about eat fresh fruit and vegies. I agree if you can grow your own. If buying from super market, non local and imported beware. Pesticides and preservatives. In this case it is actually argued that it is better to eat frozen or even canned vegetables and fruit because for frozen, they are processed at their highest peak of ripeness, frozen. Or canned. I prefer frozen if I had to choose. Where as produce that gets shipped is often picked before peak of ripeness to warrent the travel time. In which case they are often kept in a cooled enviroment as well. Most commercially grown vegetables and fruit have been sprayed during the growing process to keep bugs away and in order for the food to not perish during transit and while sitting in the produce section, preservatives have been applied. Always wash your fruit and vegetables before cutting into them if they have been purchased from the super market.

Hi, good point to discuss. The ones saying like this that they'll have everything junk in this world and live happily ever, are very few. These days most of the people in this world are worried about their health and are really health conscious. Its not that skinny persons are physically weak. You can notice many Chinese people who are skinny, but are physically strong.
Even I don't want to be that skinny, but still not even that huge muscle man, but just a normal healthy person.

I am always on a diet and sometimes I think that life is too short to worry about things like a couple of extra pounds but I always feel better when I exercise and eat right. I just heard about a phenomena called normal weight obesity. It seems that one can be the right weight for their height but have a very unhealthy body weight percentage and thus be prone to the same diseases that the obese are prone to. Exercise, particularly weight bearing exercise, is extremely important. So after all of these years of watching that number on the scale, I learn that it is not the number to worry about after all.
