I will be going to my neice's wedding this coming fall. I haven't had to wear a dress in over fifteen years. I am very self consious and uncomfortable in a dress. Is it ok now a days to wear a nice pants outfit to a wedding? I will be a church wedding. I haven't talked with her about this yet, so I don't know how she will feel about. I know many years ago when my brother got married, he insisted that I wear a dress. And I did. I have always been kind of tom boyish and feel out of place in a dress. What is your opinion on this?

Hi! If you are not going to be the bride, then i don't see anything wrong in that, to wear pants on a wedding. Of course it will be better, if you wear some costume with the pants and not wearing jeans, like on some common occasion. With some costume you will look more respectful and nice, if you have to wear pants on a wedding

well, I also don't go to wedding that often, maybe once on 10 year but, yeah, I also think there will be many women wearing pants suits

I would say as long as what you are wearing is appropriate attire for such an event then go for it. No showing up in jeans KWIM?
My hubby would love me to wear dresses but I hate wearing them & they do not compliment my shape at all.

You can wear a slacks to look more formal. Then you can pair it with an elegant blouse that suits the wedding theme.
