.net vs java

is java important or .net important now.as i am it background i need both. but which is more important today.which is better to get a good job in such a recission also.i need which is more important?

I feel both are important and depending on the market situation and requirement, you must learn. Both are have their own relative importance. Example, .net used to develop more user friendly application where java used to develop embedded systems. First you decide on which platform you wanna grow like embedded systems or user friendly application development.
