Cynthiann and a possible virus...

It's taking her forever to get in here and post anything, she thinks she might have picked up a virus. It's not normal for it to take an hour to post a response, right? She feels bad because she can't get back to any of you right now. And to be sneaky Dawn and make this into a discussion, how would you deal with this problem if it were you?

I was having this problem also. I just left it and went to do some dreded housework. It seems to be faster now.

I was having trouble when I first logged on, but I blamed it on my part of the equation. Believe it or not, when my furnace is running I tend to have issues, but only with Mylot. I just went and wrote my freelance articles and posted at another site, trying to catch up.

MyLot was lagging earlier for me so I just closed down and went and did the shopping and came to work. It was back to normal once I got back. Has she tried re-booting?

I clean temp files and cookies and run the CCleaner if it lasts forever.

Under those circumstances I would run an anti virus program, then scoot over to my laptop to see if it was having the same problem. I also might yell and scream a lot. I would be so frustrated.

When I read the topic I thought Cynthiann had a virus and was hoping it wasn't a bad one. Now, I see it is her computer that is in question. If it was mine, I'd be yelling for help. My computer repairman is very good to me.

It may be excessive memory usage or network that is not possible to accommodate a lot of data which in and out. I may be many hours to check if everything is fine, if not I'll go out looking for a solution.

I'd go make myself a cup of tea. If I was still having problems with it after that, I'd go do something else and come back later.

Hi, dawnald. I do remember Cynthiann. I am sorry that she is unable to post any content on myLot. This has also happened to me before too. If it was me, I would try contacting any person that is affiliated with myLot. Like she did with you. That is all that she can do being that she can't post. If she is able to contact myLot, then that would be great too. I hope that she can get back on myLot to post. I am glad that you are trying to help her too. I know how it is when this happens. It is very aggravating.

Hi Dawn, Last night i lost three of my responses for three new discussions. i posted it and process really took so long --it's almost an hour. then when it's done reading when i open the discussion my responses were all gone. i checked the authors profile to see if i made with their discussions but i don't have any responses posted on. of course i feel bad but i need to do something and continue working on mylot. i logged off from mylot then signed in again and it worked already. i just need to go back to the three discussions i lost my responses then it worked. happy again!

There may be some problem in the cpu. By shutting down and restarting the computer will start functioning. Also , for virus protection , the required soft ware like K7 or any other software may be ported.

Up gradation and development in this site is one cause of being slower the site. And if the other site works normally in other site than it is not caused by virus. So before taking any decision we should take time to complete the development of this site which is running now. All of us knows that mylot is lunching a new version with better facility.

It could be her internet connection or something. Is it a wireless thing or is she hooked up directly? Also it could be the computer maybe it's going slow because your memory is full or something. If it's a windows computer I would suggest that you perform a disk clean up and then defragment it. If this doesn't help then it must be something with the internet connection. Mylot hasn't lagged with me at all. Don't think it's the site...

Dawn, this morning I was also having problems posting. I think it was a server issue. It was taking forever for something to simply post. It did not take an hour but it sure was long. I hope Cynthiann's computer does not have a virus but if it does, I hope it gets well soon.

I would quickly call the computer technician. I have no patience when things go slow. And looks like my computer needs reformatting as it is going very slow now.

Being slower a computer might be reason of viruses and Identify this as worm. You need to scan your computer and use kaspersky because I found that is better than avg...have a nice day!!!

kaspersky?

Use kaspersky to eliminate viruses then uninstall it and change it to avira as your security

when it's taking one forever to post and claiming virus as the reason, the problem already is the person. viruses, any kind for that matter, are already easy to check and they don't take that long to eliminate, even control. probably, there are other reasons why it's taking the person to post... not the virus...

We don't know that it's a virus or spyware, it was merely a suggestion...
