Hi Guys, I 'm a bit upset. I sent my three grandsons each a valentine card and only two got there. The oldest , 15 didn't get his. I feel so bad but what do I do? Do I resend one??
what would you do? I know a 15 yr old doesn't care about a valentines card but his feelings have to be hurt. Let me know what you would do.

Your mail service sounds about like ours here.I'd just give him a call & exolain what's going on. Hopefully he'll get it sonner or later. He might not let on but he would be proud of it. happy valentine's to u.

I think I would send him a special card that was NOT a Valentine card, and explain that you had sent the Valentine, but the post office ate it, then tell him that you love him all the time, and that as the oldest he is special to you. (I know they all are, for one reason or another.)

You know I was getting ready to do just that but my son called and the card came today !!
Apparently my son and daughter in law kept the other two cards out of sight and then when Derek's came they gave them all to them !
I sure glad that card got to that boy. I'd hate to think his feelings were hurt cuz of me.
But, it all turned out ok and I am a happy grandma tonight.
thanks for caring,
quita

Hi quita88! I would resend one and just tell him that you're sorry it's late. Was the card sent back to you due to an address change? If this is the case, I would just tell him that you tried to send him one the first time around but it came back to you since you didn't know his address had changed. At least tell him that you did send him one. Kathy.

I was going to but as it turns out he got the original in the mail yesterday.
My son had kept the other two out of site and when Derek's came they gave them all to them !
I sure felt better let me tell you!!!
But, I would have done as you suggest here and I did call but my son took the call and we all worked together and it's ok .
Thanks for the great suggestion.

I would email him an online card and explain what happened. I have eight grandchildren so I know how most of us grandmas try to be fair and give all our grandkids even attention. I would also be upset if something like that happened.

I know Derek has a computer but it's brand new and I don't have a clue what his email is.
LIke you it is important for one to get when the other two do.
I do usually send an e card to all my friends and that would have made a big difference.
But my son called and said the card came today and they had apparently kept the other two out of site and when this one came they gave the boys their cards.
I am happy now. Thanks and have a great night and also a Happy Valentine's Day.

Your son and daughter in law think ahead, and that is a good thing. Now you have one less thing to worry about.

Firstly what a wonderful grandma you are to do that, that is sooooo thoughtful! I am intrigued to know do they know it's from you or do they think they have an admirer each? The postal system is not always reliable, however I have read your responses to other members and I am pleased to hear now that all three have their cards. Personally I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but then I am 38, and I have probably only sent one in my life time and probably received equal the amount. I don't blame the post office, I blame cupid LOL! Glad it all turned out well!

Thank you for complimenting me! as to whether my 3 boys know the cards are from me or a separate admirer, well, I signed them all :)
They knew the cards came from grandma quita
It all turned out well and thanks for the response.
I did go to my youngest grandsons birthday party today and had a great time.
It's fun being a grandma and they seem to know that even tho I've not been around for seven years that I care about them deeply.
I am also going to the oldest one's baseball games------about 7 a weeek???? geez talk about wearing out a grandma ! but I am going every time I can. I missed one game last week cuz of a drs apt but wont't miss anymore than I have to.
I have missed a lot of the boys growing up and do not intend to miss any more.
I moved to Montana seven years ago due to a personal decision of mine and hubbys and now we're back to stay and those boys are going to know me as their bestest grandma !
Cupid LOL, well, call it what ya want but grandmas still love their boys !

Hi Quita88, You are a wonderful Grandma! I am sure a call would solve the problem. I am sure he appreciates your gesture even if he did not get it at the end of the day. It is the thought that counts after all. And in my opinion a 15 year old would appreciate a card sent by his sweetheart more than from his grandma.... Though I am sure he loves you to pieces.

LOL, yes it's the thought that counts :) I have called and he did
receive his card the very next day and all is well between us.
I too know he has a sweetheart--just recently tho but I'm sure next year
a call to him alone will be sufficient.
Thanks !!

He's 15, he's probably not concerned about it and it's obvious that you sent him one too being that the other two got theirs. I'd wait another day or two and see if he gets it, which I'm sure he will. Sometimes cards and such get separated so I wouldn't worry about it at all. Besides, it's the post office's fault, not yours.
Happy Valentine's Day!

It's ok. He got the card yesterday !!! Whoo! I was afraid he woldn't get the one I sent and was prepared to send another one.
And,as you say, being 15 he didn't care anyways, but all the same, the other two got a chintzy little sweet card and feelings are feelings no matter how old you get.
So, it's ok.
Thanks for the thoughts,
quita88
