I just worried about my brother who is a reckless spender. I understand that he is still young, and he wants to have fun. But it would be wise to discipline yourself and be able to control the spending habit.
He told me that he not saving much money on his saving account. Even his a full - time job, he just doesn't have much thought on saving. I have advised him a couple of times already, I hope that he can adjust his habit on controlling his spending. Sometimes, he could spend $200 in a club just buying his friends drinks and shots. That is crazy. Are you a big spender, while spending money out of control?

Glad to hear you say that. Many people just don't have a sense of saving nowadays. Most of them just spend what they make, sometimes even overspend what they can earn. That is really dangerous. We should know better what is good for us in the future.

I always think about other things I can do with my money rather than waste it in some bars and buy a drink which would onyl last for a few minutes. I always see to it that I spend money wisely because I have issues about savingmore money these days.
I think it is important that your brother should know the value of money and the value of work. He should also think of the future. These are one of the things I learned from other people here in mylot.

Oh yeah, definitely. I had talked to him several times about the way he spend money, and I really concern about his saving issue. I just want him to have extra money when he really need money. He should be able to take care of himself if he has some money for his future.

I am very much aware that I am a big spender, but I don't spend much on something which I don't need, only for the essential things for my survival. The only thing is whenever I go shopping, I spend too much on food or grocery items not knowing that I still have bunch of those in my pantry. I always tell myself that before going to the supermarket, I need to list down the things that I should buy and stick to my budget - sadly, whenever I see items that are on sale, I buy lots of 'em.

Many people faces the same issues that your brother is facing, actually my father and my sister are like that, they just don't care about not having a dollar in their bank accounts. They are very immature with their money. On the other side I am totally opposite, I am not cheap, but I do save a lot, because I want to buy an apartment and pay off my car this year. I think also I don't enjoy either the "going shopping" I think there are better ways to have fun than buying a dress or things like that.

Hi Kingparker, I think your brother is not bothered about savings. Is he in mid 20's, if so this is most common in this age. Guys want to see all the things possible and want to enjoy to the core, that's why they end up in spending a lot. That too if his father is a wealthy man then nobody can stop them. But as they grew up and reach 30's they will understand the value of money and will get responsibility in life. We can classify this as a thumb rule where most of us will follow this rule. So I believe definitely your brother will undergo a good change in the life and he will understand his responsibilities which will make him to save more money.

OMG, i think im like your brother. But unlike him, i dont spend that kind of amount to my friends thru drinks in the clu. I just spend it thru foodtrip all by myself. And sometimes wen i feel like i want to have a company i bring with me my younger sister who always reprimands me about spending too much on food. Eating outside is much expensive compare to dinner at home. But i enjoy eating in the restaurants so i just tell her to enjoy the night.

I like to enjoy the dining at restaurant too, but I couldn't afford to spend that much money on eating out. I might have done it sometimes, or on the special occasion, once in a while. I rather saving some money on my pocket rather than spend it recklessly.

Well, I don't think I'm a big spender. Saving enough money for rainy days is important. Every month, a percentage of my pocket money goes into my savings. But on special occasions I do spend quite a lot. I believe we should treat ourselves to something good once in a while.

AS far as I am concerned, I think I am not a big spender. Even I should say that I am a vitally man with a saving habbit. I usually save the money which is not so necessary to spend on the not so valuable. I think I should be a man who can have a good quality of the traditional sprit. Even if I have a lot of money, I should try my best to make use of them.

I am far from a big spender. In fact, I find ways to avoid spending money whenever possible. I save a lot of what I make, because you just never know when I might not make hardly anything. I won't quite say it causes me great physical pain to have to spend money, but I try and limit what I spend to what is absolute necessary. Maybe a few times a year I will treat myself to something special but for the most part, I save, save, save. After all, it's not what you make, it's what you save.

Nope. Since I was a kid, my Mom gives me money as my school allowance. What I would do is not to spend all of it then at the end of the month, try to spend it on things that I really need (school stuffs). I'm not the kind of person who asks for anything from my parents and I hate to be a baggage for them so I make it a point that I have money in my pocket every time so I can buy the things I want or at least have an emergency fund when needed.
Your brother is living the life to the fullest and dumbest (sorry!) but as what we know of there's nothing constant except change. And our world is full of that. We'll never know when economic crisis should hit again and harder next time.
Its a good thing that as a sibling you're doing the best you could to tell your brother to think of his future and not just now.
There's nothing wrong with having fun here and there, but too much? That's big. Being aware of responsibilities at an early age makes a person deal with money problems more easily than the others who are big spenders.
Hope your brother will come to his senses.
