Okay, I can be fair and know that some of the things that happened during the Olympics were beyond their control. Like not knowing that the arm to the cauldron was not going to come up, but did the ceremony leave you just a little flat?
The only thing that I found even slightly interesting was the guy dancing across the stage suspended above the stands. I really hate to say this but China's summer opening was more spectacular than Canada's. Sorry Canada.

I think Canada did a great job. They knew they could not top the Beijing one, but they did a great job with their much smaller budget. I really liked their use of the projection screens, especially the orcas.

Oh I know that the Olympics will be a hit. I really like the events and I could really never understand just why they put such a great effort into the opening ceremony. The march of the athlete from around the world and a quick welcome from the officials should have been enough. The glitz and the glammour just seen to take away from the olympics just what it is really all about.

No one is going to be able to come close to what China did last time. However, I thought Canada's Opening Ceremonies were really good. The special effects were great. The colors the dancing, the singing and the acrobats. I really thought it was beautiful. Canada was not trying to compete in what China did by no means. This was also stated during the ceremony by the newsmen.
