why do some people seldom find contentment?

Hmmm...I'm one pf those people who don't find contentment because there so much in life that I want to do and experience. There so much thing in the world that I have not seen and there so much thing in life that I have not acquired. I really envy those people who find contentment in life. They are really lucky.

i think should n't expected too much of others.we should know thanks giving.we should do our best and care more about the courses not the result.we should ask for less and try our efforts.

We seldom find contentment maybe because of our unlimited wants and dreams. When we get what we want yesterday another desire to have for tomorrow. It's alright however if we keep on wanting to achieve more as long as it would be to our advantage for growth and success...

Hi there, Chryztel. Welcome to Mylot.:-) Man has insatiable needs. It is human nature and whether we like it or not there'll will always a need for something even if we ALMOST have everything. I used the word "almost" because some of us got lucky to be able to have the things that others lack, especially the basic needs and also can afford to enjoy luxury as well. But, still don't feel contented despite of that.We are not perfect as well as we are not truly complete because we are living in a world which is also less perfect.One way or another , we can't have everything that we want. No matter what we do and how much effort we exert to achieve everything our hearts' desires, it is just IMPOSSIBLE. Reason for this, if we can have both worlds, then there'll be no place for us to see the greatness of God's works in our lives. Thus, you are correct by saying that God is the ONLY ONE who can make us feel complete and fulfilled. Enjoy being part of this community. Have a great evening.:-)

I have to say that man is not really contented on what he has. That's the reason our culture of humanity grew. From the the ancient structures to the modern skyscrapers. That's the result of human's discontent. Sometimes, if a person is hungry of his ambition, that leads him to crave more and finds out he's still hungry of it. he is still lacking. he's not contented. I agree with you that God is the only one that can fulfill our loss. he can fulfill us and make us contented to everything.

Your question sounds HEAVY!!! and interesting of course.CONTENTMENT, a nice word to ponder on. And this very word when practised would lead us to happiness which is the prime reason why we are brought by God in this world...Finding happiness is supposedly our goal in being here...But due to this worlds imperfect state, then we the people are left to be INCONTENTED. And since CONTENTMENT=HAPPINESS then INCONTENTMENT = UNHAPPINESS. So let's try to ask where can we find contentment? Is it inwardly or outwardly or heavenly ?let's try to take this part by part.Inwardly, is finding contentment all from ourselves, loving ourselves. This may sound really nice right? For the reason that it's not going to be complicated...But as it is said "NO MAN IS AN ISLAND" and because of this most of us tend to seek CONTENTMENT outwardly...We are wanting to be loved, be cared for by other people...This might sound good but only to those who are lucky enough to find the right people to shower them with these acts...And reality is there aren't not so many people of this kind...Lastly, let's focus on heavenly contentment...And I could say, I agree with you Chryztel18 , as you chose this as the best way in finding CONTENTMENT. If we only focus ourselves in our God, we surely wouldn't only be finding contentment but we could be making other people find contentment...

well, chryztel18 the article you wrote tells something about me. I'm not contented in my life yet because im looking for my Mr. Right..hehe and for my career also.. i Have a job but I'm not contented to it.. Its very hard to find the fulfillment of everything we want in this world.. We are still looking, getting and searching for what we think is more better.. How I wish I'm just a simple girl.. that what simple life, simple bf, simple career.. but im not its hard for me to be contented. Well, its hard to answer to ur questions.. But you're right God is our contentment and happiness.. I do believe but its hard to apply in our daily lives right? maybe you too is looking for something that you think still missing in your life...

hi,maybe they are still want something that is still they can not get or achieved.or maybe there are still something or goal that is they want to have or to get that is why there are still not contented with what they have.for me i with say i am not yet contented because i still want to achieve something and that is to have financial freedom.i want to go to different places and many more.
