It sure is shedding season! Alots of aniamls are getting rid of their winter coats. Horses, cats, dogs and goats are shedding! I work at a stable so I know theses animals are! I used to have a horse and he would start shedding in January! By February he would be shedding heavily! Major had such a thick coat it take unti may to shed out! I used to get grey horse hay all over me! I would have horse hair on until summer it seemed! That won't be happening this year but I still will be petting cats, horses and goats! I will get some shedding hair me! I can't avoid it!

My dog's haven't started to shed...thank goodness. But when they do, they go to the groomer's once a month, instead of every six weeks.
I tried the home-grooming thing, but after 8 hours of brushing (four Shetland sheepdogs) (and I still wasn't close to being hair-free), I made a pledge to use only a groomer. (I tip her well!)

You have 4 Sheltie's! Wow! No wonder you go to the groomer when they shed! I would too! I would go nuts trying to groom 1 long haired dog much less 4! Glad you tip your groomer well! I'm sure she appreciates the tips!

Its not shedding season here yet,my horse is still fluffy with winter coat. But when he does, usually mid March,he fills the barn and field up with horse hair. When I brush him with one good swipe, the bruch is full.Wouldnt it be nice to make money off all that hair!

My horse used to shed so much I could probaly fill a matress with it! Major's coat didn't look thick from a distance. When you got close t him you could tell Major had a thick coat. I'd get his hair all over me! I would up getting in my car,all over my pants,my sweatshirt and gloves! I sure won't miss that of owning a horse!

My daughter has a Siberian Husky. She (the dog) sheds like mad in shedding season. You can go over there and her yard look like it has been raining dog fur. The poor dog look like she has a very bad disease or something to that nature. But when the shedding is over she look like a new creature. I don't really like the shedding season. But Thank God, I don't have to go through that with her. I live a couple of blocks away.

My brother had a Siberian Husky and he had the same problem when he shed! My brother wants another dog but his wife isn't to thrilled about it! She isn't crazy when a dog sheds! They can get a non shedding dog if they want. It would be better then not having a dog at all!
