This is horrible. I just read about it.
http://www.mylot.com/w/newsarticle/24061215.aspx
A 28 year old man fell asleep while cooking and set his house on fire. In the house with him were four children, all between the ages of 1 and 4. One child was his, the others were neighbor children he was babysitting.
A passer by saw the flames and knocked on the door screaming to wake the dad up.
When the dad realized the house was on fire, he escaped by climbing out a window. The four children were left behind and burned to death.
What kind of father would let his own tiny child die horribly (as well as three other children who were his responsibility) and save his own skin? All he had to do was drop the children out the window before he climbed out it himself. If it had been me, I would have gotten the children out of the window first, myself last. Especially if one of the kids was my own, but even if they weren't. You protect children. Especially when it was your carelessness that set the fire in the first place. If I were the parents of one of the kids he got killed, I would be furious. Devastated and furious. If I were his wife, I would divorce him immediately.
What a terrible person. I hope his cowardice haunts him for the rest of his life. What do you think?

OK, I'll give him some credit. The kids were on the top floor, but still... You don't put yourself into a situation where you might fall asleep WHILE COOKING , especially with kids that young in the house. It's just plain irresponsible. What if one of the kids had gone in the kitchen & knocked the pan off the stove or worse yet THERE WAS A FIRE!
Why is it the irresponsible idiots survive ( & will likely breed again to pass on their defunked genes )?

Hi, opalina143. I think that he is a bad coward, that is what I think! How can he just leave these kids in this house. Was he amnesiac then.... What is up with him?? That was a very sad thing to do. I hope that he is put into jail as soon as possible. If I was the mom of any of these kids, I would be upset and hurt very badly. He saved his own skin and that was very wrong for him to do. How can he now live with himself for the careless actions that he has caused. The blood is now on his hands and there is no way that he can possibly wipe it off.

I checked the link and there was no mention of the firemen trying to hold him back as he tried to run back in the house and save the children. There was no mention of him crying and screaming and trying to grab a ladder and climb up to the 2nd storey window, no mention of him trying to grab an axe to break the glass or yelling "stay calm kids, I'm coming, keep out the way of the broken glass! or the firemen will get you out, don't worry," which anyone who had compassion and sense would have been recorded. It did say that the firemen and the rescue team tried to persuade the children to come to the window and tried to get them to jump.
That says a lot about this man's character or lack thereof.

I cant belive there is such a person like that, who will be selfish enough to rescue his self first than his own child and though some are not from his own, he should think that those are children and cant fight for there lives. I hope that he will still charge for murder because what he does also like a murder.

This is shocking
Basic human instinct for anybody would be to check if your children are okay, and if they are endangered in any way, then you do what any non-selfish person would do and make sure that they are taken to safety before yourself.
This is terrible news, and something that will haunt the man for the rest of his life, probably even enough to take his own life (although I hope it doesn't go that far)

i think, he forgot the four children before he escape, when he remembered that there were children left inside the house it's too late.

Can you say neglect? I hope he does get charged with neglect and child endangerment and what ever else they can come up with. He caused this and he should pay for this. How would he feel if they left him helpless and alone in a burning inferno? I am reading and I cannot fathom any person doing this? who in their right mind would let him sit for these many children alone anyway? Most day cares have two people working in a room at least where I am at. He is one of those people that should not be allowed to reproduce because he assure you make to adult status. I am done with post it is really upsetting. May these innocent children rest in peace.
