Extended credits ion shows

I'm not sure if it's just me but has anyone noticed and gotten frustrated, by the flashing of credits 8 or more minutes into a television show? I understand how everyone involved on the creation and workings of a how should have credit. But after 2minutes into a show they begin to distract your focus? Your trying to read some subtitles for example? And there are various name appearing and dissappearing on screen. I see this becoming very bold in shows like 24, jack has already shot a couple of people and saved himself yet after 10 minutes there are still names flipping on screen???? Does this seem rude to other viewers and when did you start noticing this excessive trend in hollywood?
