My son is about 10 and a half months old, and has now discovered how much fun walking is. He can't walk on his own, only with us holding his hands. Im curious at what age on average, did you kids start walking??

My children started walking at exactly 1 year and 1 month old. We tend to ask around to everyone about milestones regarding our children. I find that each and every child is different. It is quite true! My brother, for example started walking at 8 months. My children walk perfectly fine now and it is great that your son is starting to walk so early. Each and every milestone is wonderful. You will enjoy all of the different things/stages that your son will begin to do for the first time. Enjoy.

My first child, my daughter didn't start walking until she was 14 months olds. I was very concerned, but her doctor checked her out and said nothing was wrong. She is probably being lazy. It was true. Everyone no matter where we were always wanted to pick her up and hold her and carry her around everywhere, so there was no need to be mobile on her own. But as soon as we stopped carrying her around all the time, miraculously she started walking! lol
My son on the other hand was also less demanding and has been more independent. He started walking unassisted at 10 months. I was shocked but also a little relieved since he was heavy :).

my son walk by his own when he is 1 year and 3 months. he start walking slowly when he is 10 month old and by constant practice he learned it. i guess it was depend on a kid who is eager to learn earlier or late with walking same thing with crawling. my son will be 2 this coming May and having fun walking and playing around the house and outside even go to the neighbors house by himself.

I know that I personally was walking well before my first birthday, but I don't know exactly how old I was when I started walking. However, my daughter was about 9.5 months old when she decided that walking was the ideal way to get around. She only crawled for a little over two months before she took off on her feet. My son, on the other hand was about 13 months old before he became mobile on two feet. He started crawling far younger than his sister had though.

All 3 of my kids started walking right around a year old. My oldest I thought was going to walk around 10 months. She started standing alone and would take a step between the couch and her toy box or the couch and the coffee table. But she was just over a year when she decided to walk. We were visiting friends and she just decided it was time and walked across the floor to me. My middle one I thought might walk later because she had to have her hips in a brace to help them grow in place. She learned to crawl in the brace and pull up and stand even though her legs were held out to the side some. She got her brace off and started walking right around a year old. My last one didn't seem interested in walking. Then all the sudden about a month after he turned 1 he just started walking and never went back to crawling.

I started walking at 9 months and my daughter at 10 months but everyone said that was pretty early. I think the averahe is 1 year. I taught my daughter by incouraging her to me with toys. start with small areas ike from couch to couch.

My son started to walk without help when he was 1 year and 3 months old. I've never put him in walker. I think that's very variable from kid to kid. Usually the kids which start to walk earlier are more unstable, and those one which start later are more stable and fall down less.

i think the average age that a child can walk is as early as 9mos old up to a year and a half. my eldest daughter started walking at around a year old, just a week after her first birthday. the youngest daughter started walking at the same age with my eldest.

My mom told me i started walking when i was a year old. Now i got a thirteen month old daughter and she still cant walk on her own. I have to hold her hand so she can walk. Most moms say the average age when babies start to walk is between ten to fourteen months old so you need not worry. Your son will learn how to walk on his own soon. Just be patient holding on to his hand as of this time.
