What I use to do when I worked I would eat my lunch at my desk and then put my head down for a ten minute nap. That ten minutes would work for me and I would get thru the afternoon with no problem at all. I only did it if I hadn't gotten a good night sleep.

Sometimes in the afternoon your blood sugar goes down and there are diabetic drinks and bars you can eat/drink to bring you up again. The one I am thinking of starts with an 'L' but I don't recall the name. Some drink energy drinks but then I get too wired in the afternoon and don't sleep well at night. Coffee does the same thing.

It is quite normal to get into sleep after a good meals.Since the blood rushes towards the stomach for digestion, the brain lacks its blood supply and so you seem to experience sleepiness.Just lay down and have a nap for fifteen to thirty minutes and everything will be alright. If possible, avoid heavy fatty foods and you will not feel sleepy again.

Hi itzmee, I feel sleepy most of the time! :) Especially when I have to do something serious and time bound. :) I often wonder how my work turns out eventually. :) Somehow, I have got on so far. :) But I sure I am afraid for future. :) It does not really help me much to refresh myself like that. A few minutes may be. :(

I think the best thing to do is to drink coffee, try and walk for a bit. But remember if you feel like that is because you are actually tired. Try and get more rest before you get into microsleep, that can be really dangerous specially if you drive as well.
Do you have enough light at work? Usually you body's internal clock responds to bright lights. Try to go outside just for a few minutes and you should feel more awake.
