Good evening all, I am at the point where I want to scream. I've been laid off for alsot 1 year come March 13, 2010. I 've been on lots of interviews, applied to many jobs, and have sent out tons of my resume. With the job offers that are coming in the pay is no where what I am use to making. I have pressed my way for the last 11 months being able to maintain yet I am scared out my mind. I am so ready to go back o work. I have no idea what else I can do to find work that will be fulfilling and also have me coming out on a positive. I pray and pray everyday and I do what I have to. I try to keep a smile on my face in front of my son and I am crying on the inside because of this economy. I went from making 50,000-60,000 yearly to making 35,000-40,000 to now living on unemployment. What else can I do to turn this around?

You mention that you have had offers, but haven't taken them because of the pay. I know of many folks who would be happy to get an OFFER. I say take a job that you are offered...I'm pretty sure anything beats the crap out of unemployment! You never know, that low-paying job offer could set you up for another blessing with the same organization down the road. I do know of many people who are also using these hard times to go back to school to pursue other career avenues they may be interested in. Take what you can get, even if it means downsizing your 'lifestyle' for a period of time.

I understand your point..However taking a job that will not cover my bills, yet alone be enough to survive on is a no in my situation. I thought about going back to school but the cost money as well. I am in a place where I have to be at or above minimum to survive. I've already downgraded my status as much as I can. I am going to continue to put my resume out there and when I get a job offer that is benefical to my needs I will take it. I am looking for a career vs just accepting any job that is temparary....
