I actually have these moments, but they're just for a few minutes and the maximum would be for an hour. However, I know of some who'd like to spend their days alone for days or even weeks.
Are there times when you would just want to be alone? Why do you think so?

Oh, there's a huge difference of just wanting to be alone and would rather be alone due to the nagging.
Whew. I get your sentiments really. There are just times when people at home can't stop but whining and nagging. Seems like we can't do anything right anymore.

Hi laydee, I do have such moments when I would like to be all alone and do things my way, not for a few hours but at least for a week.My most favorite fantasy is to take the car and drive all alone to some part of the country and do sight seeing and generally enjoy myself.I am sure I will do it some day when the time is right ..

LOL, why not laydee? after which you are back to your own crowded world.I feel that it is nice once in while to be alone doing your own thing - reading, listening to music, cooking and eating what you want , may be watch some movies of your choice ,,,there are so many things one can do with oneself...But this is something that can happen rarely not all the time...if it does the novelty is gone..

Hi, laydee. Yes, I do wished that I could just be alone. I get like this when my kids are bothering the crap out of me. Or if I am just overwhelmed with something that is on my mind. And if I am tired because I am doing too much, I will feel like I need a big and long break.

Hehhhee.. I know how you feel. I only have one nephew, he's about 3 and he really ticks me sometimes with the constant running, shouting and just being hyper active. When he's not here, it seems like we've lost 20 people in the house. The silence makes me think that I'm in the mountains. hahahaha...

I love spending time alone. I just like having my alone time, when I don't talk to anybody and just spend time by myself and do whatever I want. It doesn't last for days though. Sometimes, it's just a day or a couple of hours. I think it is still important to have time for yourself and just meditate and just relax..

Yeah that's true. I really believe that we all have to have our me time, cause it's important to just relax and enjoy the silence and your time being alone.

hi,
I'm a type of person who always wants to be alone, even if I have a family now there are a lot of times that I feel to be alone. Mostly about two to three hours a day especially in noon..There's inside of me that wants to think up somethings and ended up still thinking!!

There are occasions when I treasure my alone time. Time out from a busy day, time to just sit and read a book or just watch the world go by.

I go through periods of time where I want to be alone, yes. Usually it only lasts a day, other times it can last weeks. I try to indulge myself with solitary time, time to just...be. To contemplate, meditate, relax, do stuff I enjoy...without the interruption of other minds (liked and unliked).
Why do I feel like this sometimes?
People, whether I love them or hate them, wear my out immensely. I spend an enormous amount of my energy on those around me. I can burn out easily, and when in stressful situations, needing to be alone has always been my attempt to heal, recuperate, and catch my breath. Because I know that there won't always be time to do just that.
I guess some of it is remnants of the survival mechanisms laid in place from years of living with my family. My internal tools to keep myself FEELING alive.

laydee hi yes when I am trying to write a quality response and my roommate keeps asking questions of me and yakking and yakking and talking
some more.I call her motormouth ,but not to her face. Its hard to think
when someone is constantly talking at you without ever stopping for a breath hardly,Then I just wish she would keep quiet and read or relax or something until I can get my typing done and done correctly. Why do I think so well if you are trying to respond to someone's call for help with a wife batterer you need to be able to form logical answers and make
your response clear and as concise as you can.

Hahahaha.. Have you ever told her about that? I mean that you're bothered by her if she keeps on talking while you're doing something on the net?
I feel your pain when you say that it's difficult to really post a good response if there's someone bothering you, I've felt that way too most especially if I feel that there's someone beside me looking at what I'm talking about here. It's just uncomfortable having someone do that to you.

Yes, I do need some time alone everyday. I think it is important for me to spend some time on thinking about myself what I am doing and how.
Personally I drive happiness from staying alone. There is a page on squidoo related to this topic squidoo.com/enjoying-solitude and I agree to most of it.

..hi.. well, yes.. I really have those times.. I just love to reflect on what's going on with my life.. then think carefully of what I have to improve and what I should do next time around.. I love having a solemn time for myslef and God too.. this is the time when I can talk to him just like talking to somebody else I knew.. and I'm a loner type of person actually.. but I'm not that "kj" when I need to join others..

hello laydee,
There were times that,i really wanted to be alone.
I even plan to go somewhere,to a place that no one knows me.
I want to go and have a vacation...to a place where i could fine some peace of mind.
Maybe a secluded resort...where i can meditate and retrospect.
I really need that...and i am looking forward to have two or three days of being alone.

I'm kind of like this...I love my kids but as I've gotten older-I like my quiet time :) I think after they move out of the house-I'll go somewhere less populated..maybe the mountains...and just hibernate LOL I am not really much of a people person-I think that is why..but who knows..sometimes you just need time to reflect.

Oh same here, I'm not a very good people person, I cannot take dealing with a lot of people. However, your idea of hibernating in the mountains seems fun. Yet, though I'm mostly an alone person, I think my paranoia of fearing things would get to me if I did the going to the mountain to hibernate thing hehehe..

Yes. I also want some time for myself. Don't get me wrong. I love being with my family and friends. But I also want some me time. I usually spend twice a week for myself. It is only for a few hours though. I usually spend these times to relax, like reading, watching tv shows or movies. Sometimes, I just lie in bed and think about minor stuff.

Many times I am alone. But confining myself in one place or area didn't do me any good based on my experienced. I love being alone. It is the only time to meditate on everything and anything that comes into my playful mind. I then discovered that I can still be alone inside my head while I am with a crowd. All I needed was focus...^_^

I believe we all need some alone time, some people more than others, because we can recharge our batteries during our alone time. I am an introvert so can spend a lot of time alone, and also do. Most of my weekday mornings and many weekend are spent alone. Of course, there are time that I'm not in the mood to be alone, then I visit a friend or go to the Mall.
What is great about being alone is that you can do whatever it is that you want to do and don't have to be considerate of someone else's needs, which you have to do when you are not alone.
As some of the other "myloters" commented, one also gets more work down when there isn't anyone to bother you with their attention seeking.
I love being alone most of the time.

I believe we all need alone time, some more than others. I spend a lot of time alone and enjoy it, because I am an introvert. I find when I am in company that I sometimes get bored as my friend sometimes tend to discuss things that I have no interest in and then I tend to get frustrated/irritated.
When I am on my own I can keep myself busy with things that interest me and I do not need to consider someone else's needs that can lead to conflict.
I love being alone.
