Which is the best laptop brand?

hi guys...in your opinion, which is the best and most popular laptop brand now? i have 2 laptops now, one is compaq and another one is Asus. from my experience, Asus is better and more long lasting compared to my Compaq. Maybe u can suggest me other laptop brand and its model that is suitable for a university student because i decide to sell my Compaq to my friend and buy the new one.

in my experience i found that compaq laptops are good... i never saw any compaq laptops in repairing shops... i found hp and dell laptops more in in those repairing markets......

Well, I don't think brand really matter when it comes to computer these days, as it was differ only by brand.
I've using Toshiba, Lenovo, and Acer branded laptop. I cant compare them just by speed of processing etc as every brand gives different kind of plus point. Toshiba with their strong design (I drop my Toshiba Satellite by accident and still working (scratch here and there but still working). I carefully use my Acer Aspire (as i think it was never design to be well dropped by accident).
Different brand different configuration, different design, different price. I cant pick which one is the best.
My hard guess would be a good laptop is a laptop which when I use it: it work as I want. A good laptop can satisfied my need.

Now HP and Dell is popular. This both are very good brand. There lasting period is good. So you can buy one of them. I am also thinking to buy a laptop. i will buy DELL or HP. But there price is too high.
