Well, my friend. I've got a desktop PC which I purchased in 2007. It's Pentium D Processor, 40 GB Samsung HDD, 512 DDR2 RAM, Sony (Made in China) DVD Writer on Gigabyte Mainboard with Win xp OS. It's running well till now and I'm happy with it. Laptop PC is expensive for me to get one. Have a nice day.

I have a laptop. I work for the most part in my room. Sometimes I go downstairs. It is very convenient to be able to move around. I worked for many years on desktop type computers. They take alot of room. The only thing I don't like about my laptop is that it heats up at times. My fault because I am using it too long.

yeah you're right about that celticeagle. i also got my new laptop just 2 days ago its much more convenient to move around carrying your laptop than to stick around the corner with your desktop computer.and besides its 2010 already. new gadgets comes around like mushrooms.

I have two desktop computers in the house and one laptop I just bought two weeks ago today. That is the first laptop I got; It has Windows 7 and works like a breeze. The other two computers, the Dell I bought going on six years ago and still work pretty well; I bought right out the paper. The other is refurbished. My mom got an old monitor, and my daughter had a friend who had an old hard drive and she worked that out. Now, between my daughters, they were working the heck outta my computers, so I bought the laptop to keep it that way.

I have both desktop and laptop. I use the desktop mostly for playing games and watching movies. And laptop is generally used for the work. Maybe your computer is lagging because the you have installed so many programs in it or it might be having a virus. Other than windows xp works fine on your kind of machine.

A lot of times it may just come down to what you can afford. First I would determine your needs. Second determine your budget. Now if you can afford a laptop that fits your need and budget, then you must decide do you really need a computer with portability. If that answer is no, then save some money and get a comparable desktop.

HI THERE BUCKLORD :) thanks for the advise. and sorry for the late response. i just bought a new desktop comouter. because i think this one is more convinient and lifespand is more better than to a laptop. i want to have laptop but im not a type of person that i can bring it anywhere i go. so i still stick w/ the desktop. i bought a new one but im the who deside whats im going to put in to my cpu. yes ita an assemble type of cpu. i dont get a new avr, dvd writter and a new compuet table and chair because i still can use my old one :) happy mylotting

My wife has a desktop PC as she is at home all day and has the use of our computer table. Generally, you get more PC for your money with a desktop. I have a netbook, which is for me a better choice. It is light, can be set up anywhere in the house, is easily put away, and I use it at home, travelling, or if necessary, at work. Ie extremely convenient. My daughter has a laptop, so that she can use it wherever needed, either with mum i nor dad downstairs for homework, or in her bedroom for her own things.
Basically, its a matter of how much you can afford and how you intend to use it, in my opinion 8-)

I have 2 different computers. I have one Acer One Netbook with Windows XP and one Apple iBook G4. Neither of them are brand new the Acer is about one year old and the iBook G4 is about 4 (soon to be 5) years old. Both are running really well! I much prefer a laptop though to a desktop since it's portable and I can take it with me. That said my iBook sort of acts like a desktop as in I never take it anywhere - but instead will take my netbook...

Hi novelcai! I used to have a desktop computer but the hard disk got broken, I really don't know what caused it, but it had been with us for 2 years already and most computer's lifespan is just two years. And so when I bought for a new computer I opted for a laptop because not only is it convenient, it's also portable which greatly suits my needs since I'm a freelance and go out of the house a lot. :)

Hi there, my desktop computer has no brand because it is (budget) custom-build. Rather than confining myself to the fixed specification system offered by brands such as Sony, Acer etc, I enlisted the help of my friend and got one low-budget system which can cater to my games and online needs. I prefers desktop to laptop because of the system performance and if I opted for laptop, then that would be if I really need mobility and portability.

Hello, laptop works for me. It is convenient to use. Mobility wise its a winner.
And the good thing about it is that you can bring it with you, anywhere you go.Plus you can get connected anywhere and access your own files if you are bringing your own computer. So for me, laptop would be best.

I have desktop computer. Bought it a year ago (March 2009). For now I prefer desktop because I feel desktop is more powerful than laptop (e.g turning it on for a long time). But who knows, maybe when I am in the university I would prefer laptop because of it's portability :)

I have four computer for my use. One of them is a antic collection. One is average. And another is with latest configuration. One laptop I have.
But desktops are more user friendly. I like to use desktop when I am at home. But in outdoor laptop is important. So it is used only when I am in outdoor.

Hi! I have an old desktop PC. It's also a Pentium IV with Windows XP, but I'm getting a new one in March. I think that a laptop is only good if you move around a lot. There's no point in having a laptop always sitting on your desk.
