Have you ever met an online friend in person?

I have a group of online friends that I talk to almost every day. I enjoy their company every bit as much as friends that I see face to face. I have never had an opportunity to meet any of them in person, but I think it would be fun. Have you ever met an online friend in person? Did you enjoy it or did they seem different than what you expected?

I have... A lot actually! But the only ones I stayed in contact with are quite few, I can even count the total number of them using my fingers. It is fun actually especially the very 1st meeting of a big group of IRC friends. However, I didn't manage to stay in contact with them and I don't even remembered why. Maybe I wasn't really very good at staying in contact with people.

I would love to but I don't think I will be able to contact them because after that outing, I lost contact with them because I didn't went back to IRC after that. Hopefully I will bump into them someday somewhere and we will be able to recognize each other on the street (as it's donkey years since that meeting till now)

Yes,I have met some of my online friends and to be honest,it's scary at first when you go to meet them because you don't know what they are like.Some of them I realy liked and we are now good friends but some were not as they seemed.The more you keep in contact with them then you get to know them.So give it a try and see how it turns out for you.Cheers

I would be a little nervous to meet online friends in person, but it would be exciting. I hope that one day I'll be able to get together with some of them.

hello sunny,
I meet few online friends in person and we are about to celebrate our second year anniversary this coming April.
We all met from one site called "ORKUT"
And,we met each other in person..at first it was kind of two three person.
Then later,we were able to complete the group.
We also had an Indian family friend,added to the group.
We also meet them thru online.
It is really great to met online friends in person.
And having good times and being close to each other is what i called true friendship.
And who can tell that,online friends are not real people?

yes, i did. several times, to be honest.
it was great for me, and i think it was great for my online friends too.
the one i can remember most was a meeting with people who were actually in the same campus with me, but we never met each other before. we just know each other from a local forum, then were surprised that we were in the same uni. lol

That sounds like fun. I would love to have a get together with my online friends, but we're spread all over the United States and a few other countries.

Yes I did several times. Actually many of my friends I've met online. And it was very funny with one of them, because we've met in Internet and find out that we live in the same building. Now she's one of my best friends and I'm very happy I've met her
