Every State, and the schools in the states should have no uniforms. Uniforms don't let people express themselves. It kinda shuts people down.

i disagree with you comletely on this point. i think uniforms are better because poor and needy pople when they see their rich mates are wearing nice clothes it will be a problem, they wont focus on the classe and when they returnback at home they ask their poor parents to buy clothes like their mates. equ

i understand your perspective but i believe that uniform is rather important because it is a symbol of unification and is a means of identity.i personally believe that recognition is good. you should also bear in mind that some persons do not have a lot of clothes so them wearing uniform to school persons find it more comfortable because they do not have to hassle and bustle about which schools to wear to school.

I think uniforms do serve a purpose though. Kids are so caught up in styles and superficial things like appearance. If you have a school full of children, there are going to be those who are better off than some others. Kids are cruel and will pick on those who 'look poor' and don't wear the latest styles. Uniforms are a great equalizer and teaches the children to look beyond outer appearances, which really aren't important anyway. Children do better in school and may even be bullied less in an environments where uniforms are mandatory.

i think uniforms have their pros and cons. when i was going to school i disliked them to the core. after i left the school i was feeling pretty odd you know. uniforms give you a sense of belonging to your school. uniforms don't help in stopping the discrimination between the rich and poor. the quality of the cloth, the shine which it has always discriminate the rich and the poor. i think the best way to stop discrimination is to provide uniforms to the children who go to school, not just by having the rule. also i feel that uniforms are necessary to have that discipline and decorum thing in the schools.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Uniforms in schools is a great social leveler. When I was young I had a school uniform and although my parents were not able to afford the *designer label* type clothes, at least when I was in school, and in uniform, I was equal to the other kids whose parents had the money to buy expensive clothes for their kids.

it also keeps them safe. there are schools in my city that wear uniforms in order to keep the kids safe. if someone comes in who is not wearing the uniform, teachers know they are an intruder. this has helped in several highschools in my area.

School have uniforms so everyone is equal and it's easy to tell who is at what school. If schools didn't have uniforms, a stranger could easily walk in to the school and no would know. And people won't get picked on because of the clothes they wear if everyone is wearing the same thing.

I had to wear uniforms to the school I went to for 5th-8th grade (it was a preparatory school). It did dislike the fact that I couldn't show off my sense of style, but uniforms did make it a heck of a lot easier to decidde what to wear every day, lol! I think the uniforms also prevented the formation of cliques in my school some. I'm not totally for, nor totally against uniforms. :o

Well I think that the implementation of schools uniforms has been one of BEST(if not the best) decision the states and schools have EVER made. I don't see any drawbacks AT ALL. Express themselves? Express what??? Their bodies, their curves, the $100 outfit? They can still do that but OUT OF SCHOOL and not AT SCHOOL! Honestly, I only see benefits to both students and parents. Parents 1) Huge money savings! 2) Don't have to worry if you are children are running out clothes or doing huge amount of laundry. They just need to have their uniforms ready for the following week. 3) No stress in the morning on what to wear. Parents have enough stress to bother with another stress like "fashion". Students 1) No fashion stress/competition. Another less thing they have to worry especially as teenagers. 2)No stress in the morning either.
