How to deal with pain?

Both experts agreed that the best way for dealing with pain is for individuals to find their own form of relaxation, avoid strenuous activities and follow a healthy diet to ward off headaches and pains resulting from too much work. People can take a vacation, develop a hobby ,go to bed early and lead a simple , stress-free and healthy lifestyle. How about you , how do you deal with pain?

to me, I like to have a big drunk and serious exercise for couple hours and then go to bed, sleeping for whole day. It helps me

Well, slowly taking deep breath and slowly release it all help releive the pain.

Hello luck104! First and foremost who are those "experts" that you mentioned? Just curious...hehe Anyway, we know that the main purpose of pain is to inform us that something is not right. Pain gets our attention so we can do something about an injury. It helps to realize that pain is not inherently bad thing. However, pain or constant pain that will not resolve can definitely be bad. It can put a complete strain on all aspect of our lives. Besides medication, there are other things that I do to manage my pain. Being in pain I also found myself battling not only pain, but fear, anxiety, and depression too. Anxiety and stress can lower my tolerance on pain. These activities can help me reduce my stress and pain levels: Going for counseling. Joining support group. Practicing relaxation techniques... * Quiet Reflection - through praying and reading bible relaxes both my mind and body. * Massage - moving muscles relieve stress, tension and pain. * Guided Imagery - refocusing my attention and redirecting my mind and feelings away from my actual situation by imagining myself somewhere else, usually peaceful and beautiful setting. Managing pain takes patience and perseverance. I believe that as we actively take charge of trying to control and manage our pain we will feel better than those who don't.
