We eat quite a lot of eggs in my house.
I buy them in trays of 30.
When i was little my father used to give us fried eggs, chips(fries but thicker) and baked beans, if he had to do the meal when my mum worked. He would fry them in fat in the frying pan and we got them with the yolk still soft enough to run, so we could dip our chips into them. That is my favourite way to at eggs even today.
My son doesn't like the yolk to run.
If he has eggs for lunch ,he will scramble them in a saucepan and pile them up on to toast, all buttery and fluffy.
My daughter likes hers boiled.
3 minutes once the water has begun to roll.
She slices off the top with her spoon and dips in bread to soak up the yolk.
My husband likes his boiled too for 4 minutes or more. He lets them get cold then breaks them all up onto bread and margarine and eats it as a sandwich.
What is your favourite way to eat them?
Is everyone in your family as choosy about their eggs as they are in mine?

Your family seems to enjoy eggs soo much...but in different ways of cooked eggs. For me I like deviled eggs and poached eggs...they are quite difficult to make and I have tried several attempts to perfect this but to no success. I also liked the yolk quite raw and I love dipping them also with bread. Even without rice everything would be fine. THe all-time favorite and easy to make is scrambled eggs with lots of tomatoes and onions in it. Sometimes its better with cheese and ham because they add up to the natural yummy taste of the egg. Fried egg with crispy sides are also a classic hit...i put them inside a bread and put some ketchup in it and there you go...an egg sandwich. Once before when I was still a student, I used to have this kind of egg sandwich for my breakfast snack and I never grew tired of eating it. I share the passion you have for eggs, they are indeed yummy and soo many things you can do with them when cooking your favorite food. Nice topic you started here pandaeyes...happy mylotting...enjoy eating eggs.

I have heard of deviled eggs but I don't know how you prepare them.
I like a fried egg sandwich too.
When we have eggs fried and eat them on a plate,I like to cut all around the yolk so it is the last possible thing to eat.
You can also bake them in potato swirls.
You mash up the potato till it is soft then swirl it into a nest shape .Then break the egg into the middle and cook it in the oven. The potato gets a nice little crispiness to it.

Deviled eggs are quite easy to prepare and I'm not quite sure there is a method to perfecting them as they are usually made according to the taste of the individual making them.
To make deviled eggs one only has to boil the eggs until the center is hard. Carfully peel each egg, but it in half, remove all yellows of all eggs into a bowl then mix cooked yolks in the bowl with your favorite spices. Then refill each half and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Most people use mustard and horse radish and cajun pepper in their misture. But as I said they are made to the individuals taste. I personally do like any of those seasonings and make my deviled eggs more on the egg salad side with mayo and scallions, salt and pepper. So be creative with your deviled eggs ~ make them the way you would like them ;)

Yummy, i love eggs badly. Well i happened to learn that there are number of varieties u can make out of eggs.I usually think white is of not much involved in cooking. I got a idea from my friend, that using white u can make eatable chocolate balls. I only thought with the white part, we can apply to hair for conditioning.
Egg its not only healthy and a tasty food applicable to all vegetarians and non vegetarians!

You can use the white part in meringues too.
I dislike meringues but they do look lovely.
Egg white used to be used as a glue .
I believe in Holland they used it to glue pieces of tulip bulb together to create variegated flowers but I don't know how true that is as I heard it long ago and never again since.
When i was small ,you only ever saw white shell eggs. If there was a brown egg in there ,everyone wanted the brown one .
Now you rarely see a white shell, nearly every chicken egg on sale is brown shelled.

I love eggs just about any way you can make them, but I do have my favorites. For breakfast, I usually opt for somewhere between over easy and over medium. I like them cooked so that all of the white is cooked and all or most of the yolk is runny. I also like scrambled every now and then, but when I scramble them I like adding some scallions and hot sauce. Omelets are nice, too. Especially when they're loaded with mushrooms, peppers, onions, cheese and sausage or ham. For my son, I always make an omelet brushed with a little bacon fat, with a single slice of bacon folded inside. It's the only way he'll eat them, and since he doesn't really eat meat, I find it a good way to get some protein into his diet.
My absolute favorite way to prepare eggs, however, is to poach them. In spaghetti sauce. It sounds odd, I know, but it's absolutely delicious. The egg doesn't lose its flavor, but it takes on the flavors of the sauce as well. All those good spices and the tanginess of the tomato. It's fantastic. If you want to try them, just heat up some sauce, once it comes to a simmer, drop the eggs in using a small cup or a ladle. Something that allows you to dip the bottom of the cup into the sauce and then turn it over (you want to try and keep the eggs pretty compact in the sauce. Then cover and let simmer over medium-low heat until they're cooked through. It takes about 10 minutes, but you gotta be careful that you don't stir the sauce before they're set.

That is a new way to have eggs.
I am definitely going to try it .
I like the yolk runny too in fried and boiled eggs.
We have omelet sometimes on Saturday in a sandwich. I cook them in take away containers in the microwave.
Just whip up the egg and pour it in and add any filling, stick on the lid(they are plastic food safe containers) and cook about 2 minutes. If you have cheese you can put it on at that point and just put the lid on and wait and it will melt from the residual heat.
They turn out in a rectangle shape so very easy to make into a sandwich with square bread.

Hi, pandaeyes. So far my family likes their eggs scrambled and fried. We also eat them boiled too. Well, me and the kids do. I am not too sure about their father liking his eggs boiled. I had boiled eggs last week. I boiled six of them. I gave my kids one too. I love boiled eggs on a sandwich. And, I love to eat my eggs fried with butter and pepper on it. I love eating eggs with two slices of honey wheat bread and cheese. This is very delicious this way!

I like boiled eggs in a sandwich too.
When my son was little we had a birthday party for him and one little boy was shocked to see egg sandwiches, he couldn't understand the idea at all.
It was quite amusing to think he had never heard of them.

in my family, I'm the one who's choosy on how i want my eggs to be cooked :P I'd love my egg yolk a little soft and then when you poke it the yolk will ooze on the plate. then, i get my spoon and eat it like a soup lol! whenever i show my mom eating the yolk that way she would get really squeamish about it. then i'd say "taste it.. it's goooood"

Yeah oozy yolk is lovely.
Mum used to sometimes do me an egg and then go out to work telling my dad, make sure she eats her egg up.
Dad would try to get me to eat it but if the yolk had started to solidify he hard a hard job.
He would say, eat up your egg and I'll give you a penny.
Well some days a penny was a nice prize and some days that egg just didn't feel worth a penny.
I still get quite disappointed if I have let the egg boil too long and the yolk doesn't run.

i get a little sad too when the yolk doesn't run ^_^ then i'd joke my mom about it and say "can you cook another one pleeeease? i'll do dishes for you" lol!

it doesn't take long from being runny to being solid.
I boil them 3 minutes for a runny yolk or 3 1/2 for a solid yolk.
If you take them out at 3 minutes and cut the top of at once, they don't continue to cook in their shell.

Eating eggs with chips and baked beans sounds like a good hearty meal. Nutritious, too. My mom figured out a way of cooking eggs in the microwave, it's odd, I know. But the eggs cooks into a souffle-like texture, soft and delicious. What she did was put some eggs in a microwave-safe container and whip it for a minute. Then she added some salt and pepper, sometimes some minced green onion. As a last step, she added a dash of water (about 1 to 2 TBL). Then cook in the microwave for a couple of minutes. You need to keep your eye on it because if you leave it in there for too long, the eggs can explode(!).
Another way is softly scrambled with butter and a dash of cream.

I admit I have had it for dinner tonight. Chips and eggs with a chop and baked beans .
I eat my dinner quite early on Tuesday and Thursday as we go running in the evening and it needs time to digest .
My husband prefers to run on empty and then eat when we get in so he has his waiting for him except the eggs which I will do after our run .
You cant eat eggs warmed up,they go rubbery.

As a child I think my family loves eggs and I can't remember any of them being choosy when it comes to egg. My favourite is sunny side up and I like the yolk not over cooked, I also like scrambled eggs sometimes. I'm not much into hard boiled egg, but I love it in potato salad. When I was in India I have tried curry eggs and I like it, but I didn't learn how to make it!

We cheat with curries because we buy ready mixed spices that are just called curry powder.
You can curry nearly anything.
I have mad it with fish before.
The way we do it with eggs is to fry an onion, add lentils and liquid and let the lentils soften then add the cold hard boiled eggs and a spoonful or two of vinegar and some curry powder.
Then stir it around.
You can have tomatoes with it too.
The lentils make it quite mild.

Eggs are a favourite topic of mine! I have them everyday for breakfast and I have them boiled so that the yoke is neither too hard nor too runny! They are very good for you and so this is why I have them on a daily basis. I don't have eggs for any other time other than breakfast. I heard that there was a lot of protein in them and this is another reason that I eat so much of them in week. I always make sure that I purchase a box of large eggs rather than medium size or small. I think they are easy to cook and you can do so many different dishes with them which is great. I've had my two eggs for the day already and I feel just fine, they will keep me until dinner. Andrew

Thanks Andrew!
There used to be an advert on TV with the slogan,go to work on an egg.
I think they are a good food because they are very mild but filling.
People have them when they have been Ill after all.
If you have a sore throat they are a very good food as they are so smooth to swallow.

wow, you really like eggs! In our apartment ( I live with my brother and sister ), we love omelete, we like all kinds, like mushroom and cheese, tuna, ham and cheese, or ham, cheese and red bell pepper. I like experimenting with it, and I try to put different things. Sometimes it tastes good, sometimes it really doesn't taste anything at all. hahahaha. I also like putting different herbs, like Basil and rosemary and oregano.

I'm not really sure, but I think you have to cook it first before you add it, because when you add it raw then it would just cover the rice.. right? If I remember it right that's how I did it once before. Hehe.

I'm not big on herbs really. My teeth overlap and herbs are the culprits that lodge in the overlap.
I do like the flavour of herbs though, if only they were all finely powdered.
I like egg fried rice but I'm not sure how that is done.
I wonder if they cook the egg and add it in or whether it is beaten and added raw and it cooks in with the rice.

We eat a lot of eggs also. At breakfast, scrambled would be my first choice. My granddaughter always preferred scrambled, too, until recently. Now she likes "sunnyside", over easy with loose yolks. Another way we do is shirred, baked in the oven with butter and/or cheese. We also do omeletes with lots of different fillings. Poached eggs on toast is also a favorite, as are the variations on eggs benedict. At lunch I like egg salad and my daughter likes eggs a la rousse, with thousand island dressing.

I used to dislike poached eggs when I was small.I never could understand how the same egg seemed to have got so much more egg white than it did if it was boiled in its shell.
It always seemed like somehow a lot more had been added to it.

I like scrambled, boiled or poached eggs the best. I'm not too keen on fried eggs, but then again, I'm not too keen on fried anything. My dad used to make me 'egg in a cup' when I was younger. It was basically soft boiled eggs, all mashed up with some butter, in a cup. He used to serve it with sliced toast or 'soldier's' as we call them here.

I have my fried eggs from the microwave.
A few years back I bought a browning dish, which is like a flat frying pan but with a plastic outside to it. It is coated in some sort of Teflon. You heat it till it is very hot in the microwave with no fat or anything and you can 'fry' without oils or fats.
We use ours for eggs, sausages, chops and bacon .

Did you know you can make your own mayonas in your house? It pretty simple you just need 2 processed eggs and baking soda and some lemon juice. I love scrambled eggs, really easy to make. I also love omlets, not too difficult to make.

Eggs are one of my favorite things to eat as well. I like them all kinds of ways but my favorites would probably be scrambled or medium friend with enough yolk to dunk my toast and fries in. Yup you heard, I said fries...lol. Its a favorite breakfast of mine since I was a kid. Mom would make me from fried eggs and french fried to dunk in them..and to this day I just love that meal- and could eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner :)

Here we have boiled eggs and bread.
The bread gets cut into strips for dipping.
When I was little we used to call them dippers but a lot of English people call them soldiers.
My mum told me that her father used always to cut the top right off his boiled egg and save it for whoever was behaving well at breakfast.
She didn't often get it ,she was quite naughty!

I love eggs I honestly have to say. I used to love sunny side up but lately I have been asking to have the egg boiled so I can make it as an egg sandwich. I like mixing it with mayonnaise and with salt plus pepper. I also go for an egg omelette but with cheese this time. Nothing beats an egg omelette in the morning or anytime of the day.

I love omelette. We have them for lunch though rather than at breakfast.
We hardly ever have cooked breakfast.
Omelettes are a great way to use up little bits of meat or veg or even fish, especially sardines.
I used to use the big heavy pan for cooking them but now we almost always use the microwave .

The egg melts the margarine so you get that lovely warm taste.
You cant really let scrambled egg stand, you must eat it quickly to get the smooth texture .

It must be really neat to have so many eggs to have to cook. I saw someone on the news that had 3 chickens as pets and they give him a dozen or two dozen eggs a week. I just like to have my eggs boiled, soft boiled or fried or scrambled. There are many things you can make with eggs.

I would like to have chickens here.
We have the space to keep them.
There is a fox that lives at the bottom of the garden who would also like us to keep chickens.
The neighbour on one side throws him/her scraps and my cat is good friends with him/her.
We would have to make a very fox proof enclosure if we did get some.

I like how boiled eggs warm you up.
We generally have two each.
Some people say they are too fatty to have two a day but I don't think they are.
A lot is made these days about cholesterol and you can be too focused on that part of life and then you don't enjoy your meals as much. One egg is nice but two is a proper meal.

They are lovely with new bread.
My daughter calls it eggs and morning bread.
That new bread taste goes very well with a soft boiled egg.
