I have a family member on my facebook and his ex is on my friend list. He has asked me to delete her because he thinks she is spying on him and his new wife. He told me if I dont delete her he will have to delete me. I love him very much and dont want him to delete me. I told him if he makes everything private and settings are set to friends only she cant spy on him through me. If his account isnt private cant she see it anyway?

hi! I think i will not, because friends are friends and family is something else. I will first ask him/her why is he/she wanting me to delete my friends froom my facebook friend's list and if he/she doesn't give some really good reason I will not do it. But if he/she says me something bad about my friend, i mean if he/she has said something wrong about me and that's why i must delete him/her, maybe i will first contact him/her and ask, is it rue or not!

Yes, it's up to him to manage his privacy settings. You might also need to think whether this girl is really a friend of yours. If she is, that's fine, but many people have 'friends' on facebook for no real reason.
Whether you delete her or not, of course, she will still be able to see this guy's profile if he doesn't change his privacy settings!

If it was me I would tell them to delete me because I can have who I want on my friends list and if they don't like it they can remove themselves. But everyone who knows me in real life knows that this is me and I speak my mind if something someone says or does is something I can't tolerate.

I think that your family member is just overly worried. I do think though that he should do as you suggested and set everything to private, that way she can't get to him either way, whether it be through your profile, another's profile, or just by searching.

i will not. i will just put 'her' in a 'friends folder' which authority was set to nothing. so she can't read anything from my wall, nor seeing all other thing i won't let her to.
and for your second question, the answer is yes. she can still 'spying' him if his account remain public.
