In a cost cutting attempt some states are thinking of getting rid of the 12th grade and graduating kids after the 11th grade. Do you agree with this? Do you think it is a good idea?

I don't. Education already kinda sucks in public school WITHOUT dropping a whole grade.

Make them stupider, after all that is the main objective and it is succeeding. Why not have a system where you find out what their chosen or dream profession is, train them in it in a type of apprentice setting thing, but they get to see every acspect of it, when they are YOUNG. It's about getting them when they are young. After high school is too late. How about at age 15 or 18 they decide what they want and they get trained in it...kinda what russia use to do like if you wanted to run a hotel they teach you how to when you where young, or does russia still do this?

No, I don't think it is a good idea. Both my boys have summer birthdays, as it is they will graduate at 17. So if they get rid of 12th grade, they then will graduate at 16. I then would be sending them off to college at 17 years old. That would be putting alot of very young adults in college away from their parents.

I agree with Sassy28. But i think they should have a few teachers there at the schools for the ones who doesnt want to graduate early. I think it should be up to the parents not the kids. Plus summer school would be a good idea ONLY for the trouble makers and keep them outta trouble and maybe even jail. i think if the student shows the effort and wants to graduate early and the parents dont care then they should be able too. But for the students who wants to graduate early and the parents that dont want them too. Look at this way you would be extra smart and do better in 12th or maybe even collage. But i do think kids do go to school enough if you include kindergarten kids are in school 13 years. And if i student can get out sooner depending on the parent then they should get the privilege depending on their grades.

Yes i think it's a good idea. Kids are smarter in this generation and some if not most of them get bored or tired of school already. I can't wait for my daughter to go to college already and then get a good job for herself afterwards. She's in 10th grade now and i think shorter years in high school is better as kids tend to get confused with their studies over their hormones. It drives me crazy...all this worrying about boys around them. My daughter just celebrated her 2nd month anniversary with her boyfriend and to them it feels like 2 yrs already. She's a good girl though and gets high grades in school but still... In college it's more serious and they will be more responsible for themselves. Just my opinion. Thanks.
