Have you ever stopped to think about how things have changed. Do you ever stop and remember just how long things seemed to take when you were a child. Days would take weeks and weeks would take months and sometimes it would even feel like years? Now that I am grown and have my own children to fend for there is not enough time in a day. It seems like I just turned 18 yesturday and suddenly 10 years have flown by without my knowledge of it even coming and going ... lol! Does anyone else remember when things crawled by?

Hello Ronita. I know exactly what you are talking about. My childhood and teenage years felt so long. But now that I'm already a grown-up there seems to be so little time to do everything I want to do. I guess this feeling stems from the fact that when I was I child and a teenager I had less worries and things to do than today. I want and have to do so many things that it's just understandable that I would feel like there's not enough time.

Yes I totally agree with that. I have soo sooo soooo much more to do in a day now as compared to when I was a child ... lol! I have to work a whole day then I have to go home and make supper to feed my family. Then I have to clean my house and wash my dishes. Bath my three daughters and then get their teeth brushed and get them all to bed. Find time to relax by myself ... lol! At least once in a while it is nice to have some me time. Not to mention how hectic a simple trip to the grocery store can really be.

I totally feel the same way. I feel as though I just graduated from high school yesterday and here I am a graduate of colelge from the very own college I said I wanted to go to every since elementary school and Im pushing a year since graduation from there. Im now working in my field and looking forward to starting my own family, I never imagined I would be so hyped about it and its scary all at the same time. I often wish that I could go back to those days where there were no worries. Where I didnt have to worry about cleaning or cooking, paying bills etc. All I had to do was be well mannered, get good grades and do a few chores around the house. I often wonder is timing passing by as as fast for the younger kids as it is for us adults at this point....

Time's still crawling. It flew last year, and I imagine...by the second half of this year...it'll start flying again, and will keep flying then. Just for now, while I'm stuck in the place in life where I am, it crawls. When I was a little younger than I am now, time crawled a huge amount. It drove me insane xD when I was small, I didn't really have an awareness of time...so all my memories of my earlier days sortof blur together.

I have to agree that time flies so fast. I still feel so young especially when I am around my brothers. But whenever I see my son all grown up--walking and talking, I then reminisce on my old life. I miss my being single but I think I love my life right now with a son and a hubby. This for me is the best thing that has ever happened but of course I still miss being with my parents and brothers.

I also wish that I could turn back time and have things the way that they used to be when I was younger and life was a whole lot simpler ... lol! It sure don't take long at all though for things to change and time to come and go. I remember like yesturday being pregnant with my girls and now I have 3 and believe me they are no longer babies anymore that is for sure ... lol!

YES. Everyone I know now says the exact same thing! When we were little, we thought days and months went SO slowly - and now they just zip along past us. It seems the days and months go by so fast, that the holidays catch up with us faster each year. My kids are in their 20's now and I still think of the days when they were babies and toddlers. It is hard to believe they are grown ups! I think of some of my favorite teachers or first day of school when I was like 6 and 7 - then junior high, high school - where did the years go? I have no idea....

That is for sure I think that the holidays definately come way to fast and it seems like I can never be prepared properly for them. I remember in kindergarden when I used to be so shy and quiet and how I was scared to be around people that I wasn't familiar with ... lol! Things sure do change and time sure will pass us by if we don't live life to it's fullest.

When I was just seven years old I would say to my mom and dad I wish I am old enough to do all the things that old people do such as earning money, going out with friends, having a girlfriend, etc., 24 yrs. I crave to be old but as times passes by I learned not to rush things out for If you get older you will wish that your young and nothing to think about just to study, eat, and sleep...

Yes, I remember. When I was younger, it seemed to take forever for anything. For school to get out, so I could enjoy the summer. Funny, how it all got reversed when I had kids of my own. Seems like I don't have enough time in the day to get anything done. I'm always rushing just to get through the day. Now, I can hear my own mother's words coming out of my mouth, when I tell my kids to enjoy being a kid. You don't want to hurry up and grow up. It's funny, how things get reversed. As a kid, you want to rush, when you get older it rushes, then you want to be a kid again when days dragged on.

I do remember those days. I also think that summer days seem to be faster than winter days and I know that they are not really. However, due to the fact that winter seems to drag on and on, it makes the days seem longer too. I wish I was able to go back in time and recapture all of the time that I lost as a child doing nothing.

If I was able to turn back time and recapture all the time I spent wasting my time I certainly would to. It is an awful thing to waste because once you hit a certain age it all goes by so swiftly you can't even slow it down.

I know exactly what you mean. I just never seem to have enough time to get done what I need to get done. And, I can honestly say that it all started when I had my frist child. I think it's funny how we all rush to grow up as kids. Now that we are here we want to go back! I know I would love to be a kid again.

Kids just don't know how lucky they really have it at all ... lol! I mean I would love to go back to being a kid again most definately. No bills, No headaches, No cleaning up until Lord knows what time after the kids are in bed, No work ... haha life would be grand! I have been a mother since I was 19 and I would say that's when everything really changed for sure.

I can remember being so excited to get my license, then going on my senior trip, then marriage. All that seems like many years ago now, well it has been over 25 years. It does seem that the days go back so fast, I don't know where the years have gone. Being so scared to send your babies off to school, now at 10 & 8 they can not wait to get out of the car in the morning. They grow so fast, just last week I tried to hold my 8 year old, like he was still a baby. Boy that did not work, he hurt my arms. You need to take time to cherish everyday you have, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

It sure don't seem that long ago at all when my oldest first went to school and she is now half way through grade 4 and my middle girl kindergarden. It sure won't be long before my baby girl is ready to go to school too. It really just blows my mind how things can go by so fast.

I definitely think about this because I remember as a child waiting for Christmas to come and how that would take an eternity. Now in my fiftys I feel the year goes by so fast its crazy. Before I know it the summer will be gone and the holidays will be upon us once again.

Yes they will and as usual I won't have anything done and no one shopped for until last minute ... lol! I should really change that this year though because it always feels so rushed and I am starting to not like rushed at all. It's always rushing rushing and the time just go go go's ... lol! Oh well what do you do besides try to keep our heads up right and try to keep up with the pace ... lol!!

hello ronita, Everytime i look at my youngest son,i can't help but wonder how they've grown so fast. I think how i was able to care and how they've grown too fast right before my eyes. Where are all those years gone by! I can't even remember how they started to walk, how they start to talk and eat foods by themselves. How i am able to take care of 3 kids on my own? My babies are now taller than me,stronger than me. Sometimes i look at the mirror trying to find the traces of time. Where are those times goes? I can't remember all the suffering of sleepless nights when my kids were sick,or having some pains. Now,they can even took care of themselves, knows how to find remedy when they had slight fever, thu they often calls me...but,they know how what to do. How time flies...and how much time will fly again...more,and more

Time does move by fast. In fact, I cannot remember a time where things have not gone at a breakneck speed. I am sure it has happened in the past but I sure do not remember. There is no better indicator of the time and how quickly it has gone than to look at the year. We are now into the year 2010. That just floors me, as I wonder where the time has gone. It just seems like yesterday that I was in High school as well. In fact, it just seems like yesterday that I was in grade school as well. It is horrifying to see how quickly time has gone. It just feels like a lot of time has passed me by and I am struggling to catch my breath. However, life waits for nobody. The older I get, the quicker everything seems to go.

I really like your response because that is exactly how I feel. It's crazy how that the next 10 years of our lives are going to fly by us just as the last 10 flew by us. It is also sort of mind boggling though how when I was a kid my birthdays used to take decades and decades to come and now they just come and go like the days of the week.

I found an old neighbour of mine on Facebook. I remember thinking of three distinct stages in this woman as I knew her. 1) Our childhoods 2) In 2000 (or there abouts when she had a baby) 3) The present It's really amazing the way time flies. I still think of my step-son, whom I have not seen in a few years as 16, and have to stop and remind myself that he's an adult now.
