Not including people - must be a material posession.
Just curious

If my family and pets were out safely, I would grab my computer, because that's where all my photos are.

How about pets? Pets I would grab my dog if not applicable it would be my pocketbook. So I wouldn't have to deal with getting knew ID, bank card or credit cards.

My dogs if you count them, but if I had time to think before getting out, my purse, and cell phone. It is a pain to lose credit cards, drivers license, checking account, not to mention to call 911 with the cell.

I would want to grab my photos, especially the ones of my daughter. I actually have them burned onto CD and have been meaning to get a safety deposit box just for them!

If all family members including pets were out safe I probably would start with family pictures and keep sakes. I have a little chest that is full of special things that I've saved. I would grab that first and as many photo albums as I could carry. Then I would try to get pictures off the walls and probably any electronics as I could. My computer! I would have to save my computer! lol

ianlockley I would of course pull my computer and my monitor loose, stick them in my two wheel cart and get the heck out of the house or in my case the retirement center as at my age I would never make enough money to replace them and they are my key to the world outside this tiresome retirement center.

hello ian,
I am always aware about this fire, esp this dry season.
So,i had all my documents,my kids albums(since they were born)tuck in one place, just to pick up and carry.
That is for emergency cases of course...it's hard to loose important documents and secure new ones.
Then,i would surely grab those things,then my cellphone,it's a must,and my laptop.

if my house ever caught on fire, and i was only able to save a few things... then it would be my children. everything else can be replace, but my children can't be.
