Money! money! money? Is it the main goal of our lives?

It has a very little possibility that an individual will be able to survive life without money. But, MONEY as the MAIN GOAL of our LIVES? Definitely NOT. Money is an instrument to achieve the ultimate goal which is HAPPINESS. For example, an employee badly wants a raise on her salary and is very excited to get it right away. Her goal is not happiness, but the satisfaction that money can give her, which can probably be food for her family, luxuries or whatever.

As several previous commentators said,life cannot continue without money for it is our essential materials instead of animals and corn in ancient time.Everything needs to be paid by cash or credit card,so money certainly plays a pivotal role in our life.However,the cruciality of money does not equal to the total reign by money.Money is indispensible in modern society,but it is not our goal. It is to eat to live or live to eat?What is your answer to this question? Material fundation to human is what bamboo to giant panda(a little exaggeration).Making money is a kind of labor which at the same time improves our society and world,being a help to realize other dreams,like becoming a painter or pianolist.The observations of the reality tells me that there is always a purpose behind money which is highly valued and noble. Well,at any rate,I guess I will start to think what I am going to do with my money then~Wish you good luck!

I would hope not. It's certainly not the main goal of mine. My main goal is to be happy and productive in the world. Money doesn't always lead to either of those things. I think we focus, as a society, too much on wealth acquisition and forget to be grateful for things in our lives that really matter such as people, having a job we like (even if it doesn't pay us a million dollars), accomplishing things, and growing.

I don't see money as a goal, but it's something you have to live with when you live in a capitalist society. Similar to cloth or house, your hobby or TV show, even friends and family. When you buy a new cloth, or someone has a new cloth, you talk about it. It's not because the cloth is the 'goal', but simply because it's something you need when you live in the society where you don't live naked. When you move a house, you would tell people or even have a house warming. A house can be a goal, but again, we live in a culture where we live in a house. We don't live to live in a house. We talk about TV shows because we live in a society where everyone can watch TV. We talk about friends and family because everyone live with someone else. If you live in the world where everyone is naked, you won't talk about cloth. Similarly, if you live in the world with no such thing as money, people won't talk about money either. We only talk about money because we live in a capitalist society. If you don't wanna hear about money then live in a non-capitalist country.

Money is important in life. But our life's main goal can't be money. Money is necessary to live in this world. Money can't buy and give you every thing. Some thing in this world that cannot be bought by money are peace of mind and love. Happiness can not get buy money. Every rich people is not happy. Love when you give some one love you receive love in response.

money is not everything but for everything we need money , whoever has told this they must be congratulated . In todays world money is paramount importance . we need money for anything and everything . money is 100 % my goal in life . so nothing wrong about it . cheers

I feel society has made it to where you are not deed 'successful' if you do not have money. I work in a social service field and I see many people who come in with many life issues and health illnesses but the underlying problem is money. I feel that we as America have to take the importance off of money and place the importance back in then families. I feel the key to success in life (as well as money) is a good family foundation. It hard for many to understand how to live without money because it takes money to live but you cannot fulfill a job title in a healthy manner if you have problems at home or do not have support. I think money becomes the biggest issue for single family homes which we are seeing more of nowadays.

There are somethings which money cannot buy, for everything else there is master card!! Of course we cannot buy love,life etc. But money is one of the most important factor in our life to able to stand tall among the people around us. Can we buy happiness to some extend?Yes, Can we used money to influence people?Yes . We need money to eat, to buy clothes, to watch movie, to go fishing....its all about the money.

Not really but it helps a lot to have a comfortable lives and in order to survive never to have an empty stomach, if one have money you could buy anything you like and could enjoy a lot of things being popular and could go to any places you like, establish any business and becomes so popular. at the same times it have good effects if one have money you have a lot of resources which you could help anyone in need or build your own charitable foundation the downsides when you spend all money in material things, even neglecting your loved ones, thinking of all pleasure that you even forget family and god that it becomes evil. hence, the saying money is the source of all evil when one becomes greedy and abuse it.

Yes. Money is actually very important in the lives of many even if there are a lot of people who keeps on saying that money is not important. I am one of those who thinks of ways to earn more money. Why? Let's face it. Money makes our lives easier. It lets us have more comfortable lives. Money can bring us to different places around the world. It can make us help others in need. Money is not all that bad. But we should not make it our main goal in life of course, maybe just among our top five goals.

A lot of things revolves around money. The food we eat, the place we stay to every little thing that we need here in this world. It is a necessity because it keeps each one of us alive. But of course not for everybody does it come out as a tool to get what they want but for some it is a must to have a lot of money not just enough but overflowing. It now depends on how people use it and how people get it and as well how they use it.

Yes, i agree money is the main motto of the world today. The idea of living and enjoying a short life also needs money. But you know what, we miss many things running after money. We lose many happiness in search of money. Spending time to the family, loved ones, children is all lost in todays world just with the aim of making money. I always advice all, money is important,but it is not EVERYTHING!!

For me the main goal of our lives is.. *to make God center of our life.... why???? Its because if you made God center of your live your life will be easier , colorful ,and you will live with purpose..... For me its not just earning money but its how you live your life together with God...

Well, as the saying goes.. "Money makes the world go round". We all know that without money life would not be easy. In fact I think nowadays without money no one can survive. We need to buy food, clothing, and shelter and without money this basic need cannot be attained. I work and my wife work, simply because we want to survive and we want to provide ourselves as well as our son a better future. Without money, our dreams and plans cannot be attained. But this does not mean that our goal is money, money is needed to attain our goal....

rcom2025 maybe you can get along without having to make it , but if you do not have money you can be in a hell of a lot of trouble too, for instance if you do not have money how will y ou pay your rent, as managers do not rent for free, and food, you can not get free food youo must pay for it.This is not about the main goal of anything its common sense in this economy there are hundreds out of work so money is a big issue and in order to live in an apt or house you have to make money enought to pay the bills, I get so tired of people complaining that we all are just talking about money, myG if we had enough we would be pleased to talk about anything else.

I don't know if money is the main goal of our lives. It certainly does seem to nabigayr in us our directions. Money sometimes makes our choices for us. We can not live without money. That is one thing for sure.

Yes of course money may be main goal in our lives.But there may be another goal in our life which is more important.preparation to hereafter.

Money is indeed so important thing in our daily life, because we can't do everything without money, it's a fundamental element of our surviving in the world. But it's never the main goal of our life, the life of the rich is not so good and happy as we thought. they can buy luxuary things, but they still feel empty, because people never feel satisfied. so money is not our main goal of life, the time people can live in this world is not so long ,don't make ourselves so tired. we can still live our life as long as we are happy ,we have hope ,wa are honest. happiness is not the goal of living, it is the journey to pursue our dreams. happiness to you. don't feel down about the lost money. there is one old saying in our country,it says that it's always useful if God gave me one life, every pennce will return to you at last.be happy

I think that it depends on the people if they are more into money then I think that their goal is to earn more. Money is important but there are more important things in life like family, friends and other stuff. without money we cannot survive in this world but what is the point of being the richest man in the world if you don't have someone to share it with.
