for the lips of course. we all know they serve the same purpose but deliver different results. so, which one works for you? and which brand?

I often find cosmetic lip glosses to be quite sticky so I don't like wearing them. Ever since I was a kid, my mother put Vaseline on us when it was cold out to prevent chapped lips and noses and I think it just stuck! Now Vaseline have special lip products with things like aloe vera and rose tint in them, so whenever I'm not wearing lipstick, it's usually a Vaseline alternative.

it's really nice to use vaseline but i think i only used it once on my lips as i find that i still have dry lips (a condition i had since 1st grade). it is just amazing for i find this petroleum jelly of vaseline to be an all around. some people even use it around the house. and i wouldn't forget the very first time i became aware of it. it was because my mother used it on my baby brother and that was eons ago. vaseline had been around almost like 1892. but we all know vaseline now (this generation, i think) as a brand of moisturizing lotion that never stops innovating different formula for skin's moisturization. but way back then, my time, it was always because there was a baby in the house. at least that was then here in the philippines.

I think it was the same here. It was always a product for mothers with babies or young children. I remember my face being covered with it on a cold day! It's only in the last ten years or so I think that they've branched out into other skincare products because the basic product has consistently worked so well and been so popular.

I always use lip balm in the morning and evening. I have a lip balm that maintains the lightness of the lips and moisturizes it as well. Many girls have said that petroleum jelly darkens the lips so I don't use that for my lips. I only use lip gloss if there are special occasions since it makes my lips look shiny and glossy. I want naturally beautiful looking lips in my everyday life.

thank you for posting. it was new information for me that there is this possibility of lips darkening because of petroleum jelly. i know some celebrity beauties like tyra banks and hillary duff uses them on their skin...

i do remember encountering that name, blistex, and it was on a fashion magazine wherein skiers were being recommended products by the mag. i think blistex is more of a balm for we all know the torturing that skiers undergo from all that cold and sun exposure .

I like to use Chap stick- so out of the three I guess its lip balm. ^-^ Since I was a kid, I have always kept a stick of Lipsmakcers strawberry chapstick in my purse or backpack. It's my favorite flavor, and it seems to work the best for me compared to other brands. I couldn't imagine using petroleum jelly on my lips- it just seem so gross, lol!

i used to love chapstick, too, till i found out there are other brands that are really tempting to use. i did try out nivea's strawberry lip balm (and almost forgot how chapstick performs) but that variant isn't available here anymore in the philippines so i guess it's either they stopped making it or it really doesn't sell here so we stopped the importation. chapstick lip balm isn't on prominent display in stores here. i mean there are other brands that you can get hold of and read everything in it on their boxes. chapstick is just there behind the cashier. but performance wise i guess everybody in the world knows what you're talking about the moment you say chapstick .

i've never heard of that brand before but hey, that's understandable since we're on both sides of the world . it must be good. and am one with you when it comes to buying almost everything from the same brand. they're meant to deliver the same level of performance. if one product works with the same name then the other products with that same name might work too .

strawberry lip balms, whatever brands (since i've tried some) are really very very nice to use because of their delicious smell and additional bit of color .

During the winter I typically use lip balm because I like how it feels on my lips and it is a great moisturizer. I feel like lip glosses are mostly for looks so I use them in the summer once in a while. I've actually discovered an awesome, new, organic brand of lip balms that I fell in love with! I got a free sample of their lip balm in the mail and now I'm hooked. The brand is EOS - feel free to check out their website here: http://www.evolutionofsmooth.com/products_lip_sphere.html . MY favorite so far is the sweet mint. It just feels so great on my lips! So, what is your favorite and which type do you use most?
