does summer internship helps???

now is the time that i should apply in companies for my 6 to 8 weeks summer internship but i am not able to because i don't get that how will i benefit from a 6 to 8 weeks of internship and why would a company offer me intership???

It's better than none I think.Your hard work during the summer intership will help you to know more about the society and the job you will work on than the you can get from the books you have read.You can also benefit from the company and the working time,making more friends working on the same thing and accumulate for your future.
6 or 8 weeks seems a littel long,and maybe you feel boring doing the same simple thing all day long.However working will let you know,after this time,you will become a man treasure your life than ever before...

It would be good for your credentials and a good work experience. I had applied for a six week internship at a government agency. It was quite fun and I learn a lot on how to deal with people at work. It's a good place to start but if you to earn you should look for a real job.
