In government, because of the enormous number of people involved, representatives, proxies of their districts wants and needs, and advocates of the peoples voice, must be appointed. These representatives are supposed to carry our concerns to Washington and represent the need, thoughts, and desires of the people that they are appointed to represent. However I see a lot of corruption, a lot of lifetime politicians with agendas, and some lawmaking which is well just, contraty to the hearts and minds of the constituents who entrust these people with the mechanics of public welfare and who make the laws under which we all must live. If our interests were truly represented in government do you think that America would have voted to bail out the banks or the auto industry? Would taxes be as high as they are the world over if our interests and our concerns for our families and communities were properly represented in government? Do you think that if the American people were permitted to vote on it, that our military would be in Iraq and Afghanistan? Would we have voted to attack them in the first place in our misguided "War on terrorism"? You can't declare war on a militant or multi- national group without declaring war on their countries. So as soon as we started amassing troops to go over there and tamper with their governments and with their people in the hopes of bending them to our will, if there had been a general vote taken on pouring the trillions of dollars down the drain that this war has cost, would the American people have said, "yes, go halfway around the world and attack the terrorists, the military, the governments, and finally the civilians who are caught up in the process. And while you are at it, completely strip our country of it's finances and financial independance"? So on a scale of 1-10 how represented in government do you personally feel? Do you agree with the decisions that are being made for you locally, at the state level, or the federal level. Finally do you think that the government is making good use of your tax dollars that you support?

On a scale of 1-10 I would say that they are representing my interests at about a 1. On all levels. However, it looks like Colorado may get back their more conservative policies. This year could change the whole tone. I truly believe that we need to vote out ALL incumbents and start all over. They work for US not the other way around!

Precisely. We should elect people who will "bow to the will of the people" but where to find such people who aren't just handing us the same old bill of goods trying to get their butts firmly ensconsed in washington so that they can do what they want just the same as the ones we have now. It seems the whole system is corrupted by power and greed.

A 1 isn't low enough. I'd have to use a "J Factor" (square root of -1, also called an imaginary number). Government has totally lost contact with the people who elected them since the day Ronald Reagan was elected. They do whatever profits them and to the devil with the rest of us.

i think it would be 4 if ten is the highest rating. The government here in our country is busy corrupting to fend for their own personal needs and use public projects as a front for their evil doing. Well not all officials but most of them are.

You don't mention what country you are in but that statement would be true of most of the governments of the world. At least you gave your goverment a 4 I would give the US government a 3 if that. I feel completely unrepresented in Congress or the house of representatives.
