Some people are advised to eat some medicine after they get ill. When the medicine effect is not very strong, their body and spirit can keep better. But when they eat some medicine which full of some side effects, the body may get well while the character is changing. In a word, they lose their former character and become another person. Do you think this thing will happen?

Well I think some medicines when you take it for a while might affect your mood to change. But I think this is just temporary while you are taking the medicines and it will not permanently change you unless the medicine is prescribed that you take it on a regular basis. I think those medicines that can alter you hormonal balance are the ones that could affect your mood. Some cough medicines can make you feel nauseated and may eventually affect and change your mood in the end but this stops when you stop taking them.

Well medicines are there to really make you feel better if not cured from your illness. But if it troubles you a lot then better consult your doctor about it to either lower the dosage or replace it with a new one. I think that is the only solution, medicines cannot be replaced unless your doctor says so.
Of course, when you are well you can always eat the right food for you to avoid diseases.

The mose awful thing for me is go to hospital to see doctor. I lack of trust for most of them, as a patient, we give our life on their hands, but most of time, they only take us as a living thing, not a life as same as themselves. By carefully observation, I found some of them discriminate against the patient. So I worry human being's life. By the way, I once found some doctors are benefit to patient, but sorry to say such doctor is few.

I worry for the side effect of some medicine. Hope the doctors can make some good medicine whick contain few side effects. When we become old, the body will become weak, hope we do not rely on many medicine to prolong our life by then.

Yes, I know for sure that this can happen with some meds. As a former nurse, I've seen this kind of thing lots of times. Maybe not totally become another person, but a definite change in the personality and attitude can and does happen. Speaking for myself, I had heavy doses of chemotherapy (for cancers) and one thing my family notices is I'm not totally the same as I was before all that. (And that was 8 years ago that I had it.) It left me with a permanent brain 'fog.' I used to be a very vibrant funny person, always joking around and just really cheerful no matter what. It has definitely changed my personality, while I'm still a happy person, I'm more withdrawn and not the way I was my whole life. Sometimes taking a person off that medicine and trying another removes the symptoms and personality change, but not always.

I think that medicine cannot change the human character directly but indirectly it can somehow effect in a way the person had accepted in his mind the problems in health he is having with.
All medicine do have side effects aside from the general reason that they are used to cure illnesses. Somehow, if the person is definitely ill like severe which affects his everyday life can totally have an effect in his emotional, mental, spiritual and physical status.
It is the way the person view his illnesses and if he will accept the negative side of illness he got. But, if he think positive about his illness to not let him be affected. Then his character will not directly change all his perceptions and views about his life.

I don't think so. Some medicine can affect a person's mood, but not his character.
A person's mood is his emotional response, to a particular stimulus at a particular time.
Character is an innate trait that is formed during the early formative years (when a child is not too old to mould) coupled with the genes that he inherited from his parents.
Have a beautiful day, goodoldday.

I saw something special happen affect human being, for example, somebody's brain suffer disease, who will lose control own mood and behavior. That's why I worry for. other disease is easy to treat, but the brain is an area which not easy treat, if treat it by a bad way, the result is hard to imagine. Thanks for reply.
