!!!Please help me if you know about PayPal student accounts!!!

I have a student account on PayPal and I want to buy online. I asked my mother to give me permission to buy online using my account and she told me that she has to deposit money into my account. Is that true or does she have to flip a switch that gives me the ability to buy online?

As far as I know, you have to have money in your pay pal account in order to make a purchase unless the account is attached to a bank account. If your mother has given Pay Pal her bank account information then you should be able to make an online purchase but, if she hasn't, then funds need to be in there.
