i have told my husband last december that my goal is to pay off our debts by june of 2010. i have planned to budget our expenses so that i have some extra money to pay our debts. it is not really debts that incur interests, but we just owe our mama some money and i want to pay that off by june. it is a matter of keeping tabs of what we owe and paying our debtor what is due. although mama is not really pressuring us to pay, but i feel it is an obligation.
so far, it is february already, and we have only paid a little amount because our income is not that big yet. but i do hope that we can keep this commitment, God willing. it is also my intention that after paying mama by june, that we can save some money. i intend or at least plan to get pregnant by september, if God gives another baby to us, so at least by the time that i will give birth, we already have some money stashed for hospital expenses and the coming of the baby.
i really pray and commit these things to God, considering that both my husband and i don;t have fixed income.
so, do you also aim to pay off your debts? God bless you and i hope that you too can clear yourself of debt.
thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. happy mylotting! :D

I dont like having debts because I dont want to think about the money and the people whom I owe. I also think that staying away from debt is a good way to manage your resources. As much as possible, I always stay away from debts. I just think that debts will not allow you to have your own peace of mind. So it would be better to just live within your means and budget money wisely.

Yes.Yes. Mainly the credit cards. And I sure want to get rid of them soon as possible. This must happen by End March '10, latest. The homw mortgage will still be there. Well, that would be a difficult proposal to end. But other debts yes.

I am also trying to clear debts. The credit card crept up last year because we were also paying a loan but now the loan is paid we can concentrate on the card. Hopefully it will take us about six to eight months to pay off, at most a year.
I hate being in debt but sometimes stuff just happens and you end up stuck. Once this debt is paid we aim to either build up our savings or start reducing our mortgage. There's only seven years left on it but the sooner we can pay it off the better.

We have a very hard time paying off debt. It always seems we need money for one thing or another. It would be so nice to be debt free. I have forgotten what that feels like.
