Which Is Your Favorite? Do You Even Have A Favorite?

Hi myLot, I have a friend who wants to adopt a cat when she moves. Recently she invited me to her home to watch a video and wanted me to bring my FAVORITE cat with me. I told her I would have to bring all nine because they are ALL my favorite. That has always been the case with me. I can never pick a favorite cat. I could probably have 500 cats and they will all be my favorite. Is this true of you? If you a multi cat owner, do you have a favorite or are they all your favorite?

Hi, I have three cats, and I love them ALL. ! How do you choose a favorite ? Thats like choosing a favorite child, although they are like my children. They each have their personalities, and endearing charms, and histories. I would love to win a lottery, so I could have a shelter for strays, that would be so great !! Until then I have to be satisfied with my three darlings, and I thank God every day for sending them to me, for allowing me the pleasure of their company !

That is wonderful, busterbrown1. You are exacly right when you say that trying to choose a favorite pet is like choosing a favorite child. For me, it's impossible. I, too, would love to have a shelter. You have a big heart and I truly appreciate your comment. Give your 3 darlings a big hug and kiss from me.

We have two cats and the one in the avatar is my favorite and the one I call "My" cat. (Another family member favors the other one so he's not neglected) I have at times had more cats. In fact I once did have nine but I always had a favorite (or two or three).

"My" cat - your cat, the one in the picture is quite beautiful. I'm glad to hear that everyone is accounted for in the favorite department. So on the 9 that you had, you had 2 or 3, 7, 8 or 9 favorites. HA!!! They sure grow on you don't they?!?!?!

I have five cats and out of them I'd say that my male, Felix was my favorite. But he picked me, not the other way around. That's not to say that I'm not fond of them all, they are all my favorites in different ways.

When a pet picks you, that's always special. Your Felix sounds like a real sweety. Having favorites for different reasons is always nice. It's almost like asking what my favorite food is. I have no idea. So many things come to mind. I have a lot of favorites there too.

I like to hear of those who have 'lots of cats' like you. It's great to know that there are many kind people who give a home to these deserving feline friends. I wish you all the best.

I only have 3 cats but I too must admit that they are all my favorite in their own way. Milo is the oldest and I love him because he snuggles next to my leg at night. Bigfoot is just a little sweetheart and Brutus can be lovable when he want but at other times is just a royal pain. They are all unique in their own way which makes each one my favorite in their own special way.

I think it's so neat that many of us, including most on this discussion can have all of their pets be their favorite. I like how you say that they are all your favorite IN THEIR OWN WAY. When you mentioned Milo and Bigfoot, my immediate reaction was 'oh how sweet'. Then along comes Brutus who at times can be a royal pain. I had to laugh with that one because no matter what, I always seem to get at least one who is the occasional royal pain as well. My sister-in-law put it nicely when she said that you love them but sometimes they get under your skin. That may be true but I wouldn't give them up for anything. I adore them.

I have two cats and I love them both in very different ways as they have very different personalities. They have a strong bond with both me and my mum. They seem to love my mum more yet whenever I am down and crying or sick they always spend the whole day in bed near me keeping me company. And many days they also sleep in my room. It is verrry hard to pick a favourite as they both react differently to me. Vodka loves to stay near me most at night, she comes and cuddles up under my arms. Mali waits for me to open my bedroom door in the morning while I'm changing. So my favourite depends on what mood im in during the morning and night.

That is so very cute. You are right in saying that your favorite depends on your mood. I like that. So when I'm in a silly mood, which is very often, they can aaall be my favorites because every one of my cats is so silly. Lide you, when I'm sad and crying, sometimes my kitties will be close to me and they do make me feel better that way. Other times when I'm really upset, they get scared and hide. I can't blame them. I want to hide too. But after a short while, they come back out and everything is back to normal.

I'm not a multi cat owner and I cant imagine loving any other cat more than I love Toby. I am however a multi pet owner, I also have a guinea pig named Tila, I love her too, so much. Love is uncountable, its measures are infinate.

Amen. Why is it that we must choose? I choose the whole feline family.

I was in a situation before when my cat has to bear six kittens. I dont know why, but unlike you, I can easily pick a favorite. But when they are so lovingly caring and sweet I can quickly change my mind and tell everybody that they are all my favorite!! Simply adorable kittens...maybe thats why you are finding it hard to choose between the nine of them.

Yes, when their personalities begin to develop while they're still very young, that's it, I'm hooked. They all become my number one favorite. It's a lot of fun this way because when there is more than one cat and they start to interact, it is so entertaining. I can sit on my couch and just watch my brood playing or whatever they do and it's a different show every time. There's never a dull moment.

When I had more than one cat, I noticed that they were both my favorite however, my Smokey girl chose me over anyone else in my house and my Georgey girl chose my mom has her favorite. Smokey would come and take showers with me and sleep on my face at night, where Georgey wouldn't even sleep in my room. Same with the dogs, Tippy, Blossom and Choncho were all my favorites, however Choncho and Tippy would wait for me to come home by the gate, sleep on my feet and crowd me off the couch just to be near me, where as Blossom was my mom's dog. AND if I had to say it, I like petting Blossom more, because her fur was all light and fluffy and soft, and Tippy and Choncho were short haired with kind of wiry, but smooth hair. So I don't really think it is up to us in the long run- If roles were reversed who picked you as their favorite out of our nine cats?

Very thought provoking. Thank you so much for your input. Every pet has a special place and they all have a spot in the number one position. I think my nine cats picked me because I continued to feed them and take them in when no one else in the neighborhood wanted to or could. All my cats were strays on my block. I just couldn't say no.

I have two cats and they are both my favorites. But, Precious would be the one that I would chose if I was told to pick a cat to bring over to someone else's house. The reason is, out of the two of them he's the most even-tempered and well-behaved. He would either sit on my lap, the floor or in a couch/chair next to me. When I bring him over to visit the neighbors he picks a chair and will stay in it. If I take the hint and sit down he'll jump on my lap to be with. Chinnia is a good cat and a people lover. She'll walk up to strangers and want to get petted. But, she only behaves this way in the safty of our apartment. If we are out somewhere she's loud, moving around all the time and real scared. She'd distroy other people's furnchure.

I already like your cats because they sound like mine. I have 2 that are very good travelers and would be easier to handle, but when someone says 'favorite'. well get ready for the caravan.
