Can men and women just be friends?

I think it depends on the type of relationship and character of your partner. If he or she is insecure it can make life difficult for you. A friendship between a man and woman is very tricky, what if one falls in love with another? I think that a limit should have to be established beforehand. What is acceptable or not! I think that it is very easy to cross the borders.

I think they can. I have several friends that are women. But all of them are people who I know from childhood. We still hang out together and so on. I think thats one reason why me and my girlfriend are together alredy 10 years is that we are not only lovers, but also friends.

sure they can. they're both human and have the power of free will. they can choose whether to be friends with the opposite s*x (even same s*x) or "more than friends". it's up to them how to find true happiness in their way of life.
