Oh My god! I am addicted to social networks!!

Hi, everyone, this time I am writing to share with something I read in an article.
Well, the thing is that the article said that if you spend more than 3 hours a day surfing through social networks, it means you are addicted.
Therefore, I concluded than I am in fact addicted to social networks since I usually spend a lot more than three hours on internet, and basically, that time is spent in the several social networks in which I have accounts like Blogger, hi5, facebook,taringa,and others, and of course, my lot!!that is one of my favorite.
So tell me, how about you? do you consider yourself addicted to social networks? how many accounts do have and in which websites? and more important: is it bad to be addicted to social networks?

me too, actually i used to be addicted in mylot before but then i got so tired thinking of answering those topic and so i got hooked in playing games in facebook. and now that i dont have job, i was thinking that i need an extra income without any investment and mylot is the only site i can think off and so here i and im back. being in social network actually help us like if you feel so alone and lonely, those people in your list can help you a lot with their comments and messages that will uplift your heart.

i agree on that homeshoppers..i am also a facebook addik because of farmville, ninja saga and cafe world..it also helps me to communicate with most of my long lost friends..and also, when i heard about mylot, since i dont have work yet, i grabbed this opportunity to join you guys here to ask some advices and earn income as well..

I just open social networking site once a day and just spend about 30 minutes or less. I don't really like waste my time there. By the way, I think, Blogger is not social network site. It's web blog and I think, it's different from social network site definition. I prefer to blog than to social network.

I'm happy to say I'm only addicted to one social network and that is Mylot. I don't like facebook at all and I really don't belong to many others that keep my interest at all. So for me I can be on Mylot on and off for about 10 hours aday. So that is definitely an addiction.

Whooo! Me too!! xD I LOVE social networking! :D I think its pretty cool. sumtimes u cant see friends. the friends tat I see everyday, i can quickly contact them. But I have also friends tat I've met online and they live far away, so being able to talk to them is great. I love facebook the best. Myspace kinda killed itself. but i love all the games, quizzes, apps, and how easy everything is! :D yay.
sum pppl say i have no life. tats kinda stupid, becuz the person who told me this actually plays video games all day. but anyway, I like it, it keeps me connected to people and friends, and keeps me happy. :)

yah i am addicted too in social networks. i spend lots of hours surfing it and looking at every friend i have in a certain social network. well, its a good way of relieving your stress but on the other hand, i only maintain two accounts in two different social networking site :D

I disagree with your article. Doing something a lot doesn't mean you're addicted to it - addiction is if you struggle to cope without it. I go to work pretty often, but there's no way you could call me a workaholic. If the internet is there in front of me I'll play with it, but I can walk away for a pretty long spell without it being constandly on my mind or anything. Definitely not an addiction. Addiction is pretty much always a bad thing.

Interesting your point, I feel the same way. However some people like the author of that article think that's an addiction. Remember we are not talking about internet in general but about social networking. So it means spending more than three hour in a social network.

ya.. Me too. I am addicted to Facebook this days especially the mafia wars have got me hooked and I have also made lots of new friends from there.
I like twitter too and spend time son orkut before but it have become boring. so its Facebook for me..

I am sorry, I think I started a conversation that look like yours, but it was unintentional, I saw yours on top now, but I searched and did not appear before any discussion about like yours ... there was no intent, i started the discussion just because I could not get 3 o'clock on Mylot, sorry again, but there was no intention.
I try a lot to be original, but seems that sometimes we have same problems, same ideas.

When myspace first came on the scene, I found myself spending three hours or so on there. Looking back beyond, it was pretty ridiclious. I'm sure you're in a phase right where you find yourself on the social networks all the time. In a few months, it will most likely pass and you'll look back and laugh at the situation.

I recently started being adicted to one site, because I recently joined that site. In that site it's nice to have disscisions with friends like you, earn for that reason, Can clarify our doubts, ...., finally having fun. I joined some sites, among them If u ask for the pereference, I surely give my first preference to that site. It's mylot.com.

I am surely addicted to social networks, as soon as I wake up in the morning I turn on my laptop and log in to the websites. This is the last thing I do in the day just before sleeping and first thing in the morning.Facebook,orkut,hi5, mylot are some of the various sites that I go to and spend hours online. My mom and dad ask me what do I do online for so long and personal I really don't know. Something or the other keeps you interested in the sites and time passes by quickly.

I really am addicted to social network when summer or winter holidays come since I have a lot more time to surf the internet, most of which are social networks like renren.com or kaixin.com here in China. I am a uni. student and when I have classes all day long I'm focus on making friends or doing social communication with others, say teachers, classmates and so on. When I'm online, I won't spend so long time staring at the screen because that's bad for eyes and 3 hrs like you say, wow, that's too long. But yeah, I am willing to surf the social network to get to know more friends as my wish. May god bless me!

it's make me sick when i remembering my id and password
because i using different id and password in every different social network
but i'm happy :D
