Politics in the Workplace: How do you cope with that?

How do you handle certain situations in your workplace or with your boss who seems to find an issue/s with you and later on let you feel that you're not as wanted as before? What will you do? Will you speak up your mind to the boss? Would you weigh your present status against all these? Would you fight for your job? Or rather you would just resign and go over with your other aspirations; plans in life that you seem to be leaving behind? Please share with me your views and experiences as well if in case you were caught in a situation like this. Thanks!
